Just to make sure, you are going into the root installation folder right? not on the CD?
When right clicking the game.ver or boot.ver select open with then scroll down to notepad, if you change the values to what I wrote in the previous post, it should save the changes.
Anyone... who know how to help me with this error: 20524? people I understand if yall dont feel like it to help out... its cool at LEAST can anyone tell me where email address or other way to contact square enix online? thank you. I did reinstall ff14 3 times... downloaded... still same once it hit 100% error popped up. help me out thanks
I apologize... I did not see your message there xAsthenia. Yes, I follow exact what your direction was. Not on CD. just my computer-program files-square enix-final fantasy 14 and i see game.ver and boot.ver. game.ver is 2010.09.19.0000, boot.ver is 2010.09.18.0000 also i found patch ver... its at 1.17b. however i did change number message appear "Cannot create the C:/Programs Files/SquareEnix/FinalFantasyXIV/boot.ver file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct" :( what do i do now?
My guess is that you will have to right click on the FFXIV icon, go to "Run as Administrator"
I did, and all it did was take me to boot verison and prepare downloading now im on ff14 updater...1/3

Hi, I am completely new too and I have searched everywhere, but every time I log in it says the whole service is down for maintenance, but I have look everywhere and I cannot find any updates on the forums or the site explaining this or how long it will last. Does anyone know what is going on?
