Apparently this is a common issue and I read somewhere that you have to change the date values in the game.ver and boot.ver files in the installation directory.

Changing it to todays date has helped rectify most peoples issues.

Of course I can, I'm at work at the moment but I'll try write a brief description if I can.

Locate the installation directory in which FFXIV was install, generally it's located in the C drive and then Program Files.
I'm not sure if there will be a Final Fantasy XIV folder there or it will be a Square Enix folder then the FFXIV folder.

But the game.ver and the boot.ver will be located somewhere in there.

You can also click on the C drive and press Ctrl and F and type the file names in there and it will locate it for you.

If you're still having trouble I will try and assist you when I get home where I have access to it all.
    Hope this helps somewhat.

    Hey, I'm home now!

Right if you go to My Computer - C: - Program Files - SquareEnix - Final Fantasy XIV.

    You'll notice a boot.ver and a game.ver.

If you right click these and select Edit, it should open them via Notepad.
If not you will need to select open then scroll down in the list to Notepad.

When it opens in notepad you will notice there is a date value. Without changing too much change them both to 2010.09.19.0000, hit save or ctrl and S and try boot it up again.

    ****NOTE****

Make sure you copy and paste the contents of both these files in a wordpad or something just in case something goes wrong, it will save you having to reinstall the whole thing again.

I also read up that once you've done this, if it crashes at 100% it indicates that files are fully installed.

Hi, I am completely new too and I have searched everywhere, but every time I log in it says the whole service is down for maintenance, but I have look everywhere and I cannot find any updates on the forums or the site explaining this or how long it will last. Does anyone know what is going on?
