or those variables may get reset after the event is over. THere's many different and relatively simple ways to handle this. Besides the fact that I've played many games with event quests that come back every time the event comes back.

Repeating the event on the other gender would be a lot simpler than creating an exchange system. It may even be such that there are actually seperate quests with seperate rewards by gender (which could be tested by using a fantasia after having completed the quests)

As the event went live.. the dropped items from Lightning Fates are called Unworldly Parcel x 2 per FATE. One is for the weapon and one if for the clothing which opens up every 2 days real time. So.. basically there is no limit on how many ( Unworldly Parcels ) you can collect. If and when you change your toon Male/Female using the Fantasia ... you still will have available the Parcels in your inventory...
The NPC in Feb. will offer the same items and since you triggered the quest already.. there should be no reason you cant trade for the other gender stuff in FEB. But by doing this you render the previous gender gear as 5 spots in inventory you can never use. So basically.. your complaint goes back to why cant you just Gender Swap (at will) like changing a job class.

iirc the vendor only sells the weapons, not the clothing, so that wouldn't help any.

either way this is plenty annoying and I fail to see how SE didn't think of the possibility that the vast majority would probably want to at least have the option to use both sets (or even combine them. like everything from lightning, but snow's coat)

Just like you can get SOLIDER outfit, for Lighting in LR....you should be able to use Lighting gear, on male chars, and Snow gear, on females...
And you should be able to buy both, at the same NPC, as is selling weps, so you can buy the other set.

If I want to be with the "cool" females, I would need to level my alt female to 45 by the 20th. Now I have a job to do, so don't have time grinding to 45. I like being immersed in the story; skipping cutscenes and quickly flipping through the dialogue is not sitting well with me. And though the event will be here till the 9th, my job is more important than finishing the quest. I'll be quite annoyed if I don't finish in time and have to wait 2 months to complete it.

So just want to say SE, thanks for forcing a 45 for LV13 items. That was stupid.

I agree. Both outfits could easily be worked as male and female clothing. The gender-lock thing is really annoying.
