Obviously English isn't your first language because you don't understand what both of us said completely coincide with verifying the loot system is jacked up. I say out of 32 pieces of gear, 4 are healer or tank. Shiyo says nothing but DPS gear drops. What do you think is contradicting?

Tokens = Tomestones of Mythology. The system is already in place, you know.

Besides that, it's RNG. I went 3 weeks without seeing a single caster item drop; I don't even care. There's no rush to get the gear. RNG is RNG. We're going to be stuck on this content for a very long time, much longer than most of you seem to think (many months). I'm fine with just sitting back and enjoying it.

After dealing with RNG from games like Lineage 2 and Aion where you could farm mobs / do runs for MONTHS and never see a drop for your class - Coil feels pretty damn generous. Bunch of spoiled players.

If coil equipments are token base then there will be really no difference between them and myth equips, except they are much harder to obtain. SE will just put a cap on that so you can only get enough token for an accessory after you clear turn 1-5 say twice.

I don't care if it is the only content that is available for TWENTY years. If I get a full allagan and mythology set that means I can help my second or third coil group visit all the content and let them get some gear and not have to worry about me rolling against them! Enjoying the game starts with visiting the content, then beating the content, then getting the gear, then showing friends around it and helping them get their gear. In that order. I've done two of the four and am being artificially blocked by an archaic loot system from doing the second two.

Yeah this is what should be done, each set of armor can be turned into a NPC for multiple pieces of gear so there's a much higher chance of getting loot you actually want/need and not letting it rot on the floor.

edit: Ignore the trolls btw, don't even bother responding to them. Just say your opinion and move on, best way to handle these forums.

Dear Diary, I wish SE would hand me my drops just for being there, I'm entitled to these because I've run them many times. Surely their game is broken because of my terrible luck, give me my stuff because I want it.

Hmmm, 4 DPS sets drop in coil and the other 2 are tank/healer.

If you can't do the math then I am sorry, this debate is a lost cause.

you have my sympathy but the most basic, rudimentary, fundamental, elementary knowledge in statistics requires you to at least understand that before such a claim is made you need at least a large enough sample size...

not getting what you wish IS frustrating, but until we can physically see the codes used to write the drop rate no one can say for sure if the drop rate is balanced, but I am almost sure that it certainly is randomized, and you just got unlucky.

This isn't entirely true here... FFXIV's RNG is a bit screwed up. Ask any crafter or gatherer how often they see a 90% success action fail 5+ times in a row. Personally I'll see a string of unlikely failures or unlikely successes multiple times a day yet the odds would dictate it should occur more like once a month. Now random is random I know, but when all the crafters in my FC report the same thing... well that's proof positive the RNG in this game doesn't work as far as I'm concerned.

It has a very strange tendency to roll the same result repeatedly so often the odds are in the millions to one. This is also why groups tend to see the same things drop again and again. How many times have you run a dungeon and seen every drop be for the same class/job? I know I've seen it far too often for the RNG to truly be random.

A token system would be a good workaround but it doesn't address the issue here... SE need to fix their RNG algorithm. Besides... do we REALLY want another currency to farm?
