This is the strat we use. I'm not sure why. It's quite reliable, but it does make for really long fights (usually I will go dry on TP as PLD by the end of the fight). I think we do this because we have a hard time getting the snakes to split at 0 stacks, so when they split at 1 and essentially instantly double the number of stacks it becomes more taxing than it should to just brute force it.
Common misconception - you actually can't keep the snakes at 0 stacks. They will gradually grow in stacks even if you feed them, which is probably why this strat is less than ideal. When we kill it both snakes usually have 3-4 stacks, and that's feeding both every spawn (sometimes one is missed).
Imo it's not really a very well tuned fight though. It should be an advantage to use the "proper" mechanic to do the fight rather than ignore it.
Same deal with Turn 4.
