There was once an old sage with Angina...

Rules and regulations of various nations make it difficult to host the same contest in all regions.
Beyond that, each regional subsidiary of SE has its own staff and community team that is responsible for coming up with events and running them. Further, people in different regions may be more or less interested in certain types of contests, so they hold simultaneous contests in each region with different themes/goals to appeal to the interests of that region. It isn't a matter of excluding people, it's a matter of
1) following the regulations of the nations served by that region's office
2) appealing specifically to the fans in each region
The ingame holiday events are a completely different beast. This is about contests which require some kind of action outside of the game. Ingame holidays are just part of the game. In fact i'm hardly aware of Blizzard running the kind of events that SE does on the forums at all. Everyone should consider themselves lucky we have them, I don't see a lot of games do this.Quote:
World of Warcraft has in-game events for both US and EU, both regions receive the exact same items..
It has pretty much everything to do with laws. Even in North America, there are issues. A lot of big contests and stuff end up not being available to residents of Quebec due to their french language laws increasing the cost and difficulty of running international contests in that province.Quote:
It's hardly "law" reasons, if that was the case then EU wouldn't even have an event... they could have made them both the same exact event.
You guys will win the same thing just the contest is different. Reallly need to cry about this? The events are so simple. Every event a new whine.
