Well the thing to remember with WoWs end of expansion raids is that most people stop playing at around the 4 month mark for the last raid. They've beaten it or beaten it enough that they are content to just wait for the expansion. Thats part of the reason that you see a lag in release of last dungeon and release of expansion without anything to break it up.

FF14 has done better than any other game to release to date at emulating the structure of a good modern mmo, while still maintaining its own feel. I mean it rel-aunched with a group finder, story mission,10 classes,9 crafts, easily understandable gear progression and a guild leveling/bonus rewards system. Some of that needs fleshing out and they definitely need more content but given the likely limited budget they had I think they spent it in the right places.

Log on for about 40 minutes to clear Coil, log off and play other games. 2.1 is bringing no progression content at all since CT will be DF and probably be even quicker to clear. Sadly it will not be until 2.2 which who knows when that will be. They made a fantastic game, but releasing it the way it is right now was a mistake if you have a HC mentality.

Coil question:

That last patch, my group's now noticing ADS doing his Pacman water move instead of Firestream. Is this a fix or a glitch? We're killing the firestream node, which made ADS use that ability in the past. Now he's gone all Pacman at low %s.

I honestly could not understand your question completely. However, I will attempt to answer it.

If you go the left route, then yes ADS will have the water wave ability. He only starts using it at 30% (or 35% can't recall) health, it is easy to handle and nothing special. In another word, usually, if you go the right route you deal with ADS firestorm, if you go left route you deal with ADS water wave ability.

You may kill both nodes and don't have to deal with either but it is not wise as ADS will gain more dmg res. Lastly, no, ADS is working as intended and there is no bugs/glitches from the last patch that effected him, he is still the same nub that spams High Voltage, panic's close to the end and start activating everything at the same time.

Just an advice, Water will never hit your healers or range DPS if they know what they are doing and only tanks/melee need to learn how to dodge it, but Firestorm can easily kill anyone since ADS like to stack abilities on top of each others at low health.

If you assume that it takes 8 weeks to develop content then you're sadly mistaken. Content for an expansion is largely complete or in process when the expansion launches. Blizzard would launch an expansion with the first patch 90% complete, the second patch ~50%, and the third/fourth laid out with work in progress. They don't actually make one patch at a time and release them when completed. 8 weeks is WAY too fast for content for most of the playerbase. No company will ever please the players who want the entire game/expansion released at once so they can play start to finish and be done with it until the next expansion. If you plowed through everything and burned through the entire game in 2 months it's not their fault.

To give you some insight on Pandaria, the current raid is the final raid of the expansion and the expansion has only been out since September 25, 2012. Barely over a year total and the expansion is technically done. That seems a little too fast to me, but then again that's just my opinion.

That isn't something that has newly arisen since this patch, its something that has always been there. At times ADs will basically be doing 2 abilities at once around the time it switches phases and it can really mess you up if you aren't paying attention.

There's a small reset in the timing of his abilities whenever he eats a node. Sometimes he can pop off a High Voltage right after throwing out an Allagan Rot or something and it won't be in the same timing as the other High Voltages. We were at a point where this was happening once as it really just depends on how fast you hit phase transitions and where he is in his script, so we had a third interrupt waiting. As your dps increases, you should never see this happening again. At least that's my understanding of it.

What are we looking at as far as raw hp requirements for the various turns? I'm a late starter (just got my relic today), and I'm not kitted out in full Darklight just yet, nor do I have the cash to buy all the crafted gear. Will 3300 (out of party) be enough for a whm, at least for a few turns?

The HP requirements for healers aren't very strict for the first four turns as long as you are quick to react. With that kind of HP, you'll certainly have far less of a margin for error; for example, in turn 2, if you don't dodge a laser quickly enough, you might pop if you're not at full HP. If you do feel like your max HP isn't high enough, there is always the option of using one or two Hoplite accessories plus VIT-heavier food.

BTW the secret to twister is in spinning in circles, OBVIOUSLY.

Have any PS 3 users had issues with Turn 2 Coil Lag since the maintenance? It has been perfectly fine for me up until this last week and as far as I know nothing about my connection has changed. It is very frustrating because I am letting my group down constantly with the DC. I don't ever lag Turn 1 and don't lag till final boss Turn 2. My effects are all at the lowest setting possible and I am still getting lag.

My group was experiencing some issues tonight as well, NINAbuser. For a few attempts, we were having people get hit by laser before rot would go out. The people who were getting hit would of course claim they were well out of the aoe, but you know how that goes. As raid leader, I was understandably annoyed until I watched exactly what was happening more closely. Our WHM (honestly not sure if he's ps3 or pc) typically stands in the center of the room. He was targeted with laser and moved literally to the wall and still got hit. We left and rejoined and it seemed to fix the issue.

I know the game has positional update issues, but it seemed to be even more extreme than usual tonight.

Has anyone gotten banned thus far using the Twintania exploit?

No one did, the only thing that happened is gear was stripped for those that got any and no one got the "binds that tie" achievement you get for actually killing twin the right way. The exploit however has been fixed(maybe, no one has said it's still working yet), however there are still issues with the fight that do not seem to be "working as intended" beyond the twisters that may or may not be fine.

Yep, I've run out of fingers to count the amount of bugs encountered during this fight. It's gotten pretty silly. May still be killable, who really knows at this point, but one of the worst fights I've had the displeasure of experiencing.

You know my group just started real attempts on twin tonight.....all i'm asking for is a fight that is not ridden with bugs that requires the group to be at the top of it's game and not deal with rng. This fight seems like it's actually semi challenging....if half the mechanics weren't broke as shit.

I do not care if twisters are "working as intended" or not, if you can't even get to them now without finding multiple other bugs or invincible mobs the twister mechanic may as well not even exist. The fact that it has taken 2 weeks to remove a single exploit and yet leave the rest of the fight with all it's problems and even new ones does not bode well for any future content.

It's never happened to us before. Our DPS has also increased from when we were doing it before. I don't think it's a 'it casts then next phase' because we have it doing it multiple times in a row (over 5). If I could get a video of it, I would, sadly, tonight isn't a scheduled raid night.

On a note actually related to this game, looks like they are going to make a statement about Twintania balance early next week. So what do you think its going to be? Think they will say "Sorry guys, looks like we really fucked up with this instance." Or the more likely scenario "The game is working as intended and you just need to get better."

I am on PC but also noticed those issues on turn 2 today with static. It wasn't terribly choppy, but at times during the beginning of the ADS fight people would stop moving, then fast forward to their current location. Wasn't fun the first few attempts^^

Despite their boasting of how the encounter is working as intended, I suspect they lucked out with Twisters after countless attempts. The kill video and whether they kill it again in the next lockout will confirm or deny this.

They will be, they are just busy editing in terrible techno music over top of the normal music. That shit takes time.

They will be uploading a video, but I would find it hard to believe they could consistently luck out during twister phase and probably wipe multiple times towards the end of the encounter. I mean, to be that lucky where they just magically live through twister phase repeatedly to push her farther into the fight? We'll see when they upload the video.

I like how they edit in a very long, simple and boring 'trailer' for it rather than just using that time to upload the video itself.

May as well drag it out since they're the only ones to have beaten it huh.

Edit: I'd laugh if they make a SE type video. Cutting out important segments, random zoom ins - stuff that doesn't reveal a thing.

I would like to see a full video of this, or else everyone will have a doubt that this is legit. The game have loads of bugs and stuff that is glitch-able, even if it gets patched.
