Difficulty of normal content.

I completely disagree that this is too hard for you mainly because I could do it. Maybe it's just too hard with that job. I did the raids first with a job that I'm highly comfortable playing and then did it again with Picto just to see. I died a lot more on picto because i'm not use to it so I'm looking at my UI much more than I did on my MCH.

You will get a yellow beam that knocks you into another cell behind you. You need to move so it doesn't land on a fractured cell since the fractured cell will break when you land. I died to that the first time too. I'm sure many did.

Also, I've been this way even in WoW. I find that the more attention world first raiders etc get, the more insecure some players get about their own abilities. I would urge you to not worry about everyone else - we are all clueless week one and sometimes beyond.

You seem like you are a good person so I need you to take a small step back and realize that Skell is a mad joker doing a bit of a hee haw for comedy in this thread.

And how many hours do you have to play FFXIV before you get to that point? Because most of the posts in this thread celebrate walling off current content and requiring hundreds of hours and ten years of experience before playing. "You're level 100, everything should be easy!" The issue at this point isn't Square Enix, it's the Final Fantasy XIV community which wants something far more restrictive than any other MMO. We have approached the "final boss" territory of FFXIV. And that's FINE! That's great news! Because it means that Final Fantasy XIV is finally approaching its end of life and the company can finally move on to a new MMO.

The raids aren't even difficult, but this thread wants them to be because it filters out the plebs and you're level 100 anyway so just "get gud". Hopefully this is the end!

Okay sorry for spamming the thread but I just gotta reply here and tell you before it gets worse that this guy is 100% joking and taking the piss. It's either a joke or the lowest hanging bait I've ever seen, and either way it's not serious.

It's an mmorpg, not a single player game. I'd recommend actually going in with other people for your roulettes for starters. I'm sorry to say but FF14 dungeons are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to difficulty, it's the easiest form of combat content you can do in this game.

Thank you both for the warning, but you know? If someone sees that message that really does think like them I hope they realize these raids or any other are not something to be fearful of. This is common in a lot of MMO's honestly.

I'm posting here for the first time to offer this counterpoint: the difficulty on this content has been EXCELLENT.

I'm not an extreme or savage raider FWIW; in fact I've never cleared a savage fight and have only ever unsync'd extremes. But this was the first time since Shadowbringers that I felt like the game was using actively engaging fight mechanics again. I loved it.

Even the expert dungeons and stuff have felt so much more interesting and engaging compared to the boredom of Endwalker fights.

It's very possible to learn these and play these without being an extreme/savage player. They aren't overly difficult-- you just have to take some time to learn them and accept that failure is okay. Practice makes perfect as they say.

Thanks for the tip Gortys, I appreciate your kindness. I'll have to try that tonight after I get a new mouse, I think I've worn this one out and now it's doing the infamous Logitech double click making it very annoying to play when I mouse over the wrong skill while attacking.

This thread has kinda proven that this community isn't ready for the "Savage really isn't that much different from Normal it just takes a different type of effort" conversation.

This. New dungeon aren't hard once you understand them, no dungeon is, but they are FUN. I actually want to play expert roulette unlike Dead Ends or that void dungeon with the trash pack "boss." New mechanics finally are good. New normal tier is very fun with some fun ideas going on. We literally just had "#healerstrike" over dungeon content not being engaging, we get the tiniest amount of spice, a couple new mechanics, and people start complaining the other way. Maybe instead of complaining you learn how to play the game. Learn how to look at the screen, see what's happening, and think to piece it together. Don't get mad if you die, use it to learn and improve. It's end game content in a video game, it's not supposed to be playable asleep.
