On primal i haven't been bothered or seen any stuff luckily but have noticed a increase in venues on every datacenter.

I've had to remove people from FFXIV related communities on many occasions for violating peoples boundaries and being extremely disgusting, and without fail they were overwhelmingly people who were deeply involved in the 'Venue' scene and had their super modded characters plastered all over the place. I've never experienced something like this to this extent on any other game, except for maybe PSO2 which also attracts these types of people like a magnet.


Do you know what happens you open this games tag on Twitter? Do you play other multiplayer games and engage with their community? This game has developed an external reputation for being full of degenerate behavior. One of the most notorious articles ever published about this game was about its brothel scene lol. There was a point where I stopped telling people I played this game, because I was tired of dealing with the inevitable 'Oh isn't that the game with a bunch of dudes cybering as catgirls' responses.



Venues that aren't focused on adult content are in the minority, and the people who end up attending them tend to be part of the adult venue scene anyway. Adult venues absolutely dominate the scene, at least here on NA.

You can speak for your server and your server only tbf. Maybe you just don't get out much or automatically assume things about the majority based on the minority you've interacted with. I've been to plenty of venues that are just chill bars with nothing extra going on. In my years I've had 1 person stalk me and this wasn't even due to a venue. Dude just saw me in Ul Dah and harassed me all the way back to my house. Can I say he was part of the 18+ scene for sure? No. I don't have that info. Btw having boundary issues and being in the venue scene aren't always hand in hand. One can be present without the other.

The folks you speak to may think the game is full of what you claim. The folks I speak to dont. Just what it is. You're still off for speaking as if the venue scene is just full blown degeneracy. Also just to add something simply nsfw doesn't equal degeneracy.

I've played on Leviathan, Ultros, Goblin, Balmung and Cactaur over the years. It's been the same story everywhere.

I just did an audit of the Crystal 'other' section in PF. Out of 19 listed venues:

ERP venues: 12
SFW Venues: 4
Unknown: 3

Even if you are extremely generous and assume all of the 'unknown' venues are totally SFW (at least two of them openly deal with adult non-sexual themes), that's still a 12/7 split. Wild.

Also the 'Maybe you just don't get out much' is extremely funny given that we're talking about ERP venues in a video game.

edit: fixed the math, I skipped one.

Does anyone else remember the billboard incident? It's also so frustrating why those people got houses meanwhile for the longest time I couldn't even get my hands on a small to just have a cozy little cottage for myself.

My point is get out much in terms of the game and venues. Lol it's called context. Not out as in outside. And if we did say 12/7 that doesn't mean things are rife with "degeneracy". What you see up now may be different than what's seen on Monday or other Servers/DCs. To many variables to make bullet point claims tbf.

This seems more like a salt post. You act like they did something shady or unfair to get a home. They went by the same rules everyone else does. They got one. You didn't. Just how the cookie crumbles

Well I have never been harassed by anyone in game and lucky I guess. I'm not talking about the brothels I'm talking about the venues that are just music driven and chatting with a group of friends. I'm sorry you had bad experiences but I have not.

You know the more I read this post the worse light I see you in and that was harsh. You take music venues and make it into degeneracy WoW. Speaking of WoW I think I had more verbal harassment in that game then in this one. Maybe you need to rinse your mind out, if someone is harassing you report them and block them. This attitude is about controlling others freedoms in game. While I do understand you have dealt with bad situations not everyone has but to assume everyone is by your definition degenerate for actually going to a venue is ridiculous.

Yeah if you cant get a house on Spriggan while there's literally 10+ houses open per ward almost in every single area, the problem is you, and this has been the case for a while even before auto demo, there were multiple houses open it was housing galore in personal or unrestricted wards.
