Got Titan NM on my monk in leveling roulette, the tank 34 MRD decides to tank by jumping around in circles around the boss cleaving people eventually he dies and I end up tanking it the boss the rest of the fight as he couldn't get hate back which was probably a good thing....

Apparently he/she noticed me at the same time and we both managed to switch to nocturnal right as the tanks pull so we both get locked to nocturnal. Ok, no biggie I will just change back to diurnal... nope... I can't because we skipped mobs and I am now stuck in combat. Carrying on I am spamming my diurnal button hoping that combat breaks at some point... and right before a later boss TADAH IT DOES! I victoriously switch to diurnal... just in time for the tank to pull and notice that the other AST also just switched back to dirunal. LOL at that point I finally said I will stay diurnal if you want to switch back to nocturnal... it was so terrible, but so hilarious at the same time.Quote:

New person bonus; circle drops and immediately 3 people in alliance C leave. I was like "Wow really? Already?" Anyways, we just continue on as normal, and fill back up before Mr. Mortal Gaze Ahriman. Long story short, everyone followed mechanics. Newbies stumbled a bit, but nothing too serious. No wipes on any of the bosses. Everything was so smooth. Even Cloud of Darkness. Sucks for those that left before they could even give the newbies a chance.

This didn't happen to me, but a friend was running Xelphatol and someone in there was parsing. They posted the numbers in the chat to gloat over their score and make the healer feel bad for not doing more damage. I wish I was there to report the dude. I'm fine with parsing under certain circumstances and without any intent to shame people, but in that dungeon especially it's like whining about other people driving at the speed limit holding you back when you are driving on the highway on a rocket car.

Just had a super odd experience in a BisEx run for WT.
Every single one of us had a HUGE lag spike, and then started red dotting. Lasted for about a full minute. And then, suddenly, everything fast-forwards, and we're all laying there dead. XD
Was really strange... I really hope we aren't going to have another repeat of a few weeks ago where Level3 derped, and then a couple days later the servers or something else derped. Game pls.
Did that happen to happen to anyone else? O.o -

Then *poof* they left without a word. I mean, I didn't say they had to go upgrade right then and there, but secretly I hope that's what they did. >.>; -

I was doing some Midas normal runs on my WHM alt to unlock the Creator for... later. My WHM was i209 at that point, pretty close to the minimum itemlevel.
In A6, I got a paladin who didn't have even the slightest clue about their cooldowns. I mean, he didn't only pop Sentinel and Hallowed Ground simultaneously, he popped them before a pull. ._. And he tried to maintank everything, trying to rip aggro of the DRK, which caused the tanks to play ping pong with the first robot... except the DRK stopped to tell the paladin to stop the BS while the paladin was actually too dump to keep aggro, so in the end it was the BLM who tanked the boss. Many deaths because of those aggro issues, but me and my co-healer (also close to minimum ilvl) somehow prevent a wipe. Somehow.
Second robot wasn't much better because the positioning was awful. DPS were all over the place instead of stacking behind the boss, and the paladin still tried to ping pong, so in fact it was impossible to properly deal with the laser attacks. More deaths, still no wipe. Felt like a god at that moment. The remaining robots were stressful too, but not nearly as awful as the first ones.
In A7, my co-healer got jailed and seemed not to know what to do because we had the poison debuff for quite long time, but nothing too bad. Fun part was the four bombs that are supposed to be dragged into a corner, but... nobody moved. They all kept standing in the middle, and before I told them to spread the bombs, I decided it would be faster to find a safe place so at least I survive the explosion, ran to a corner and BOOM! everyone but the paladin maintank and myself were dead. LB3 was used already, but we could recover by the paladin keeping himself up with Clemecy and Hallowed Ground while I revived the other healer, then a summoner.
Then... A8. At least two DPS were new, so was the paladin, which isn't too much of an issue... except it was THE DERPLADIN FROM A6! So, pre-pull Sentinel and Hallowed Ground as well as ping pong again. And the DPS ate the Megabeam (is it called like this? That fat laser the boss shoots). And the DPS ate the super obvious circle AOEs. And the DPS didn't kill the adds although they were told to. So, DRK maintank and I killed one add each (yes, when he had his aggro safe, he moved the boss to one of the adds because nobody else was there anyway) while the other two exploded. This happened three times before the robots from A6 appeared... and wiped us because the paladin didn't take his, so one robot ran amok.
The second try was pretty much the same except the DRK was prepared for the paladin's derps and took both adds. He wasn't even hard to keep up, the issue was that co-healer and DPS were dying left and right because of, well, minor things combined with their Killing debuffs. Close before the first two robots were dead, I even had to use LB3 to prevent a wipe, but oh boy, I kinda managed to heal through this mess, but the struggle took so long that we hit enrage when Brute Justice was at 81%. I have NEVER seen enrage there before, and then... 81%. I was like... wow seriously... I was speechless. Derpladin got kicked then, and everyone else left as well.
When I signed up again, I prayed to the Twelve for they won't get me grouped with Derpladin again... and thank them, I got two competent tanks. Finally O.O -

Probably gonna upset some people, but I never realized how incredibly frustrating it is to have a healer not contribute a single bit of DPS during a duty. Quick Expert roulette before bed: Xelphatol. I'm on BRD, FC mate is on DRK, and then the two randoms are a NIN and a SCH. First boss, I knew DPS was slow, even with me continuously popping every buff I had. The first boss actually managed to get out the four air stones tethered to the turret, something I only saw on my very first run. SCH is standing off to the side practically AFK. No DoTs. No Shadow Flare. I don't even think they bothered to cast Adlo or E4E.
Second boss: NIN drops his first wind tunnel on my friend, who has to move the boss out of my fire circle because of it (my poor fire circle ;_; ). The second time, HE RUNS TO ME AND DROPS THE WIND TUNNEL ON ME. I end up losing my DoTs because directly after I get marked and have to run to place mine. So I was super mad. I would have dropped it on him, but that would have meant dropping it on my friend.
Finally, last boss. Almost managed to summon Garuda a third time, but I LB'd him because the NIN showed no signs of even knowing what an LB was. And, again...the entire time: no DPS from the SCH. Not even a Bio DoT.
I just can't.
Of course, last night, I also had Xelphatol in my Expert.
Last boss summoned Garuda 4 times.

Thought I'd try my hand at ninja after a long time so I queued for ex roulette. And since I still have in progress ticked, of course I get dropped in progress in Xelphatol. There's two Lalas, a BLM and a WHM, and a d/c'd tank. After some remarks about how awesome Lalas are, the tank returns from his d/c. However, no moves were made, and after I announce I might be a bit rusty at ninja, the BLM disconnects and immediately disappears from the party. Soon after, the tank does the same.
The WHM then tells me they're probably salty that he/she kicked the other dps for being offline. Apparently, the dps d/c'd because their sub ran out, then the other two d/c'd as well. Eventually the WHM had decided to kick the one offline the longest. So now it's just me and the WHM, then after a while another dps arrives. Because I know the chances of getting a replacement tank at this time of night are slim, I decide to try to leave and rejoin as tank.
I hop on my warrior and make it back, and it's just me and the WHM again. The other dps had left in the mean time. The WHM laments that they just want the dungeon over and done with so they can get dinner. So we decide to just go for it and see how far we get with the two of us. In the middle of the next trash pull, we suddenly get two dps join in short succession, and cheers all around as the party is complete again.
We fly through the rest of the dungeon in record time, and the bard who joined even gives me Warden's Paean for my berserk pacification! Some merriment about my various berserk macros, and we're done, and the WHM finally can get their food. -

A11 runs before reset earlier today.. On the first run, i got in into warrior who complained to OT warrior for using butcher's block.. nobody said a word, and we cleared it..
On 2nd run, i met the same warrior who complained to another different warrior OT for using butcher's block, this time the OT asked what's wrong with it, much to the MT called it being a dps loss in a rather harsh way.. on prey blaster, the dps died followed by chaotic propeller wind caught one of the healer.. Soon after, only me, 1 healer, and both tanks were alive. Edd spawned and killed the OT. I used Bard LB2 on both cruise chaser and EDD. Unfortunately GA-100 target the healer, so me and healer died from it leaving MT with 1% cruise chaser..
Surprisingly enough, both MT and cruise chaser died at the same time.. after respawning, MT claimed that by using butcher's block isn't affected by storm's eye.. I corrected him, and left the duty with my 4th alexandrian spring -

I was in Halatali NM today as DRG and the CNJ was weird.
No one was a sprout, and no was new to the dungeon. I checked to see how new the CNJ was, and they have about four classes leveled, three over level 30. I don't want to seem like I'm picking on someone who is new but... they were using Medica a lot when only one or two people were hurt. I told them it's best to just use Cure in, like, 99% of all situations, especially this low a level. They didn't say anything... To that anyway.

A story not about Duty Finder but I recently took on Cancer the Crab with 4 mentors and some FC mates and it went well. I didn't think there were FATEs that beefy :o -

Each job has like a specific amount of enemies where AoE is always better, ranged jobs like BRD and MCH like the above poster said for sure if there is 4+ mobs in the group you definitely should be AoEing (I usually AoE at 3+ but some melee jobs need more enemies to make AoE better than single target). Tanks in general have to learn how to hold hate on everything in the pull so that the DPS can AoE and do maximum damage.Quote:

Rolled into 60 roulette (Arboretum) and got the warrior who didn't even wait for protect before sprinting off and grabbing all the mobs. Okay, cool. This is fine. Shield up on the go and zone out a bit as I'm throwing out Gravity bombs. At the first boss, the tank starts to back-seat heal a bit, requesting for me to have a enhanced bole for the next pull. Okay, cool, whatever bro. I know I don't need bole to keep him up, but the heart of the cards agreed and gave me to boles back to back. I make the comment that I'm a professional, and he's in good hands. (#famouslastwords)
Big pulls all the way through, we blast through both honey doors easily. The big pulls continue after the second boss, totally fine. I have him topped up and go into cleric's to hit a few gravities, thinking I'll just ED him back up and continue on my mindless gravity spam. Except for when I go to hit back to my other hotbar, it doesn't move. Oh crap. Now I'm awake and this tank is going down fast. Can't switch, can't switch.
Look down to see my cat parked on my keyboard (I use a controller). Yep, that's why I can't switch. By the time I shoo her off the keyboard, it's too late and the tank goes down.
Keep everyone else up and get the tank back, and then apologize in chat.

For yesterday's expert roulette, my AST butt had the pleasure to get a three-man premade with everyone wielding the A12s weapon. There was pretty much nothing I could effectively do, the tank barely needed any heals and the mobs died so fast I couldn't hit them with Gravity unless Swiftcast was up. So I just switched to Nocturnal, shielded the tank before and during the pull, drew some cards and DPSed only the boss fights. Finished in less than 12 minutes <3

I've had about 24ish hours since reset to cap scripture before I'm gone for the rest of the week (until next reset) and boy, the things I have seen since yesterday morning.
The good: after work, all I have to do is run a trial and one other duty, say, Bismarck or Ravana EX, and I'm capped. Also good: got Alex Creator loot drops.
The bad: I was kind of a jerk in Weeping City last night. It was one of the last things I queued for some it was late and I was tired, etc. I queued as PLD and the other two tanks were DRKs. I glanced at their gear, good enough to get in but not current tier, but I was fully prepared to OT because hey, reprisal procs. One of them pulled Spider Boss but couldn't hold hate. The other tried to pick it up and lost it to the BLM on their alliance. I waited a moment to see if either of them would take it back and neither did, so I picked it up and MT'd it for the rest of the fight.
Second boss fight, someone else does a countdown and I pulled, not wanting a repeat of the first boss aggro struggle. What I didn't see was that someone laid down waymarks for the adds. So when they appeared, I picked up the one in the middle, as B usually picks up that one, especially if B is MT. Someone calls me out for not picking up "B add" and I replied B usually picked up the middle. So they snarked about me not reading way marks and we spatted over that briefly but no big deal, no one wipes, and we get to the headstone trash.
So I ask the waymark wiseass if he wants to tank mid at the headstone, too. To which he saucily replies "can't you see the waymarks?" Someone else starts moving waymarks around and another person says "pls...just don't...at least the PLD can hold the boss..." And C's DRK pulls the headstone. They fail to hold it, again, so I picked it up and turned it away from the raid right before it cleaved.
Ozma is fine. Calofisteri is where I was a bit of a jerk. A's DRK does the ready check. A's AST does the countdown. This time I don't pull. Aggro is everywhere for a solid half minute or so before I turn on shield oath and pick up the boss. And it's okay, I'm turning haircuts away from the party, up until I pull her to the edge to avoid the criss cross extensions and she immediately does a haircut on most of the room. "Sorry, my bad," I tell my party, healers are quick to prevent a wipe, and we finish the raid in silence.
I'm shocked to leave and get a comm. I did not deserve one.
The hilarious: queued for mentor in progress on heals and got a party that was in Tam Tara missing a tank. The tank and healer left the two sprouts at the entrance. I said "I'll try to come back on tank," left, switched to DRK, and got a Sastasha in progress near the second boss. Their tank had left them at the very beginning and the AST had healer tanked for them up until that point. And they'd made it almost to the end! -

on another note, rolled into EX roulette and got Xelphatol, dork knight and 2 bard, (me whm)
Drk and one bard are bashing this other bard about dps etc etc things are being killed very slowly indeed
the whole run took 34 minutes -_-
looked at my parser afterwords, top dps by nearly 300 -_- WHM GG me :D -

A bard entered the boss room in A9 while his Requiem was up, which pulled the boss. Nothing special, happens all the time, but this time one of the tanks got locked out.
So, the scholar picked up the adds, our remaining tank popped Hallowed Ground during Faust, and the DPS destroyed everything in no time.
Was fun to see A9 being solotanked :o -

Shout out to the two healers who mutually let the DRK in one of my A9N runs die after he wiped the entire party for the sole purpose of resetting his cooldowns. When he went down I picked up the boss, the dps picked up Faust and burst him down, and we cleared it with zero issues while the DRK laid there and said nothing. During loot roll he said "enjoy your reports." I reminded him that GMs review the entire log and they'd see the fact the DRK deliberately wiped the party for cooldown reset. The DRK didn't have much to say after that.
