they already said more than once they are going to add a universal cancel spell button rendering this mechanic completely useless.
I am glad to know that I am not the only one who finds the current "recast to cancel" thing not 100% reliable. Sometimes when I click to cancel my cast it does absolutely nothing at all. Could be lag, who knows. But it does not always work.
I do NOT want the slightest little wiggle to cancel my spell though... That would make me crazy. I would much rather movement increase the cast time.
I approve, for the most part. Most MMOs have few spells that can be cast while moving.
Anything with a cast timer should not be able to be cast while moving. Anything that's instant cast should allow for free movement, however.
I'm just fine with moving cancelling spellcasting, as long as we can get rid of animation lock. Fair tradeoff, IMO.
Moving, jumping and esc key should all cancel casting.
fun? what about running to a safer position while casting? thast how i do it, not sure about you.
not only does it feel so much more fluid to start casting SS while im running to my group of leve mobs, but theres been so many times where ive been able to run away from mobs while casting- have the mobs dissengage- my spell then goes off - i then immediately go right back to fighting them.
its fluid, more fluid then not being able to do either of those.
also take into account the new MMOs that are coming out. both blade and soul and GW 2 have already been praised for their magic casting system by players and other DEVs. Both of those games allow you to not only charge cast while running but also complete the cast while still running.
the new market for MMOs is more action oriented. Yoshi has stated that he does want a strong level of competition to future games and has used these coming up games as examples in past player polls and in interviews.
This will certainly make the Darkhold much more difficult for newbies.
