Healers that don't want to DPS are like DPSes who refuse to move out of AoEs.

I think where the OP is coming from is when there's times when you're sitting there and there's nothing to do. The tank is sustaining themselves, you have a full MP bar and the DPS are dodging. These down times are when you can do some damage. I think we're all pointing in different directions here, but the end result is the same as every single other thread that has been started like this one. They just didn't state it in a constructive way and came off as salty rather than helpful.

Like you said though whether it is DPS or keeping your people alive, you win you did good.

Just curious, say when a new tier of content comes out. Usually new gear / item level or an ease of raising the item level comes with it. How long would you say it would take it for a party to gear up and pass those DPS checks without the need for a healer? If any time frame at all. I have no knowledge of Savage so keep that in mind, just curious.

I think if endgame didn't seem to be littered so much with hard enrages dps arguments would again be less of a problem.

Read what they said again carefully, they said RAIDS, not dungeons. If they are the main healer and the off healer is doing dps, they may be too busy to attack. Not every group is blessed with awesome tanks and dps, they may all be average players and as a result, constant healing may be needed. Mos healers who just heal in raids do so because we don't have godly good players who can dodge / mitigate everything.

My static are good players but they still need a lot of upkeep. I'm not ditching them for that because their my friends. They trust and rely on me watching their backs and I will continue to do just that. The only time I do any dps (if I have the mana to spare) is at the start and certain intermissions.

Sort of. The reason for the enrage is because DD classes are expected to do optimal damage while performing mechanics. If there was no enrage then players could essentially spam 1,2,3 while dodging and doing mechanics.

The reason the healer DPS is an argument is because it's more than possible to do and is required for clearing content undergeared where every bit of DPS matters.

So if it's possible to do undergeared for content then it's more than possible to do while overgeared. I don't see it ever disappearing because otherwise the healing checks while being undergeared would be too extreme, unless SE decides to change the MP ratio of spells where healers have either much more MP and DPS spells cost a truck load of MP or healing spells cost significantly less MP, are more potent and basically need to be spammed in Raids.

Mhm! They're both quite similar. That extra mouse click though makes it to I only use my left thumb to hold Alt for my centered abilities (Presence, Shroud, etc). Never use either pinky at all.

The larger problem is this game only rewards damage. Tanks started pulling more because content became easier. Healers DPS because they'll literally do nothing otherwise. A big proponent on why people want to see harder hitting and more uniquely designed content is to actually challenge their selected roles. I love tanking, but I only actually feel like one if I pull the entire room. Otherwise, the mobs are so hilariously weak I barely even need a healer. This current DPS meta will never change unless the devs address their tuning of content.

Because DPS simply do not have the same responsibilities. You'll always draw more attention only tank or healer, regardless of the game because you influence more the battle. And can we please stop this nonsense in bold? A White Mage casting Aero III into five chained Holys will deal higher overall potency than a Dragoon. There is literally nothing said Dragoon can do to make up that damage.

The DPS checks for Creator are incredibly light. Provided you have learned the fight and know your role properly, you shouldn't see engage on any of them past ilvl 260-- even less for A9S. If I recall, A9 and A10 Savage have an eleven minute timer.

So are aggressive meta healers who wipe their parties just to stand out in easier dps rankings while being complete team liabilities.

I know... how about as a test you do this...

Dump your healers and replace them with DPS classes...

Obviously if you can survive the raid... you would prove your point... if you can't...

Then the reality is... the Healers need to heal first and foremost...

If you're trying to avoid mechanics because you can't do them... it says more about your skill... or lack thereof.. rather than about healers... or rather them having to pull everyone else's weight because you're not good enough...

Plus it's harder to call them out unless you prove it with numbers (bannable) there are threads about dps being kicked for low dps. Dps are bad i say something.
