I think it's best to look at the game like
ARR - Pilot episode
2.1-2.55 - Season 1
Heavensward - Holiday special
3.1-3.x - Season 2
It kinda makes the wait feel a bit easier for me, as it is like waiting for a new series of a TV show, lol.

At this point, they effectively have revealed nothing new. Last time we got a preview on LoV, exploratory airships, void ark and a glance look at some weapons, and the new dungeons. Liveletter they...previewed LoV, exploratory airships and void ark, only they added developmental footage which showed nothing out of the ordinary.
No extra details on relic, primal, or any other changes they were planning to add in. Sure they onyl had one hour, but that made it even more important to use their time wisely instead of telling us things we already know.
What on earth does that have to do with anything?!
I didn't say i was bored . Nor did i say i have run out of content, etc because whether i have or not is irrelevant... I said "dev vacation for however long" was a bad excuse/dev practice...
Go white knight response someone else please. Or actually respond to me in context.
I'd imagine the idea is they don't want to show us everything just yet, as it's still a month and a half away, there's no point in getting the hype machine in full swing just yet. The Hiroshima FATE is likely where we will see the trailer and other new stuff, and it's not exactly like thats too far away from now.
Well it depends on the circumstances. People are already feeling the effects of burn out since we're in a content desert out of release, now would've been a better time than ever to keep players interested or start preparing for what 3.1 gives (such as motivation to level my side classes, getting X done, etc etc)
Your anger (maybe not just YOU per se but Pibz as well) is based on an opinion not a fact. We DONT know how long the vacation was for. To assume it was for a month because the patch is delayed from the expected Oct to a month from that to Nov is poor logic.
Thus, you are essentially White Knighting your baseless emotions and lack of facts because you believe them to be true.
The only thing I defend is their vacation. Because they are human. The timing is largely irrelevant as most people will drop in November because of Fallout 4 (i assume). As such, the super dedicated (who will be subbed to that point anyway) will remain and enjoy the content. Fin
I wonder if this means we'll only wait a month or two for 2.2?
"Anger", "bored". Stop inferring stuff into my text ffs. If anything it's you people getting "emotional" over "your" game receiving any kind of criticism and thus attacking me instead of my point (because yes inferring emotions into text that doesn't even clue into any is bad argument construction, and is irrelevant to my point).
I thought i had read somewhere that they said it was 1 month. There i fixed my post, doesn't change anything. So we don't know, it doesn't matter. The fact that they couldn't manage regular employee vacation without prolonging the dev cycle to the longest gap there's ever been is STILL bad practice/poor excuse, you just can't get away from how bad of an excuse it is.
I don't care even remotely it was delayed, but don't (dev team/SE) excuse yourself to the playerbase with your poor management.
Oh and just as a note, if they took a much smaller than 1 month vacation, and it ended up extending the dev cycle for 1 and half to 2 months ( the supposed cycle is 3/3 and a half months), it's not that it's bad logic to assume they took one month vacation (it's actually reasonable), but that something weirder/even in poorer form is going on in there.
ITT: Babies. Giant man-babies.
How many of you guys are going to sit there and pout about how ludicrous this is and stay subscribed to the game anyways? The answer; most of you.
Random note, but who at SE thought early November was a good date to release 3.1? Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront 3, Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. I'd think they'd have trouble competing against Fallout 4 alone (let's face it, if someone unsubs now there's a good chance they're not going to resub when Fallout 4 hits within a week of 3.1), but all of those other games too? Fallout 4 is a Bethesda game and those last me hundreds of hours, and that's before mods.
I know someone is going to go "but not all FFXIV players are interested in Fallout", and you're right, but I wouldn't be surprised if a huge amount were. This is going to be the being release of 2015 by a long shot (I'm a huge Witcher fanboy and can see that).
