lol im sure bane used to spread to everything very early on.
WHM has the highest aoe dps in the game
SMN aoe dps is different as you can dps targets all over the map regardless of distance.

Awww really, a constant barrage of 1.5-2k is still good for a healer class ^^
The Summoner is the weakest DPS to play now while Black Mage has an easier rotation and outclasses Summoner in every area of DPS. The problem is they are balanced against the Black Mage which has a fast ramp up when they should be balcnced against the Monk. Summoner has more in common the Monk than the Black Mage since they both have a long ramp up to build their DPS. Unless SE makes the Summoner compete with the Black Mage they should make the Summoner single target DPS just below the Monk.
if i remember right, didnt smn have such high dps they had to tune it down to be more in line with other classes and remove thunder? Far i can see once ss becomes a thing i actualy could see more nerfs coming....
smn dmg isnt great number wise, but comes from 100% uptime that others dont get...same reason bards took a hit
also like to point out out of 6 experts yesterday all but one tank couldnt keep aggro and dps was 30-70 higher than blm, nin, mnk and bard.....
SMNs have booksmacking, take that BLM, booksmacking makes us better (?)
For the record, I think that SMN does need a little tweaking, even if I disagree with spamming the hell out of the forums after the point has already been made a dozen or so times.
As for as BLM rotation, don't neglect to mention that while BLM rotation involves fewer abilities, player skill in maintaining their casting uptime as close to 100% as possible is the true challenge in playing BLM. The BLM players who comment the most on forums and are successful in end-game are the minority; I believe that most players are pretty awful at the class and are doing well if they can maintain 350+ DPS even in Syrcus Tower, let alone Coil.
Personally I find SMN to be more newbie-friendly as long as the player can manage to watch timers and reapply their DoTs at need. A mediocre SMN will outclass a mediocre BLM if they can get at least that right since their damage will be ticking while the poor BLM is probably still recovering from the Flare/Transpose he thought would be a good idea to use on the nearly-dead, stand-alone mob.
Since I can only post 1000 characters on here ill link my ideas and solutions regarding of current state of summoner.
