The single biggest issue holding back FFXIV needs to be specifically addressed.

That wasn't an official answer to the english community. It was a quote translated by a user about a different topic that also is about the netcode.

This and the ridiculous targeting deal are my biggest issues and until they're fixed, I definitely won't be coming back.

It's pretty ridiculous and it's even more ridiculous it has gone on so long without being fixed. Though it's clear what SE's priorities are, fix the game first, then fix the servers. Which is not to say is a bad approach, but we haven't even seen an official word on this issue. I'm just assuming though it's bundled with the rest of the server issues, like not being able to kick someone from the linkshell, which is as equally absurd lol...
