For some reason when it comes to this particular fight, it's always a hit or miss if I don't clear it on a Tuesday. The biggest issue I've seen from this fight is when the meteor start coming out, and most of the players are far too close to the tanks to avoid getting killed. It's a cluster of a fight, but I still very much enjoy it. Leads me to wonder how screwed players would be if a fight like this was a solo instance.Quote:

Might as well expand on this with an edit since I mentioned it. The first run, the SAM and BLM in the group had died within the first three flips/spins. We didn't have enough DPS to beat the enrage timer on the dragon add and got wiped on the ultimate attack. The second wipe, the healers could not keep everybody topped off during the actual ultimate, so everybody except the tank with the Bulwark died.
The third wipe, hoo boy - if I were to make a mistake, I certainly made a huge one. So after the transition into the next phase, I popped away from my party to apply a trick attack because of how the tank had positioned the boss. I get my trick attack in, and sure enough, I get targeted with an orange marker. Jumped over to the spot where I'm supposed to pick up the Bulwark...
...and the Bulwark doesn't transfer over to me.
It doesn't transfer at all until the last possible second, and in a panic, I move to the spot where I'm supposed to be standing to keep from killing the party. Sure enough, half of the party gets killed by my stupid mistake, and the rest of the group dies afterwards. Big mistake. Can't even blame the party leader for kicking me after that. Only me, of course, because I happened to look at the PF listing after the kick and the same jobs were still in the party - only my slot was open and free.
Things like this are exactly why I'm incredibly harsh on myself lol

If I remember correctly, Lv64 HQ gear has higher stats than Shire gear, but NQ gear is lower. Or maybe that's the Lv66 gear (which you may or may not be leveled enough to equip by the time you reach Bardam). Yeah, that sucks. Forgetting to heal is one thing, thinking you shouldn't be expected to heal is something else entirely. There are two healer slots in the party, therefore the content should not be solo-healed.

It's also not really well-explained, to a new player, how to go about getting the crystalloids and earning the weapons in the first place. That i310 weapon (or i330 now) is the last one you can just purchase directly from a vendor without going through hoops. "To get the i390 weapon I'll need a special tomestone and Rowena's tokens, where do I get those... oh, I need to buy the tomestone with crystalloids, where do I get those.... ah, this guy actually sells weapons directly! Much easier!"
I think there needs to be an active help popup explaining the process when you get to endgame. If you're new, and you've just worked your way up through ARR and HW long after they were current - firstly the process of buying Ironworks/Shire weapons is simplified at this point, with both tomestone and tokens purchased with poetics from a single vendor, but even then they remain somewhat convoluted and people are just as likely to skip over it entirely and simply acquire the next level of standard gear from early HW/SB. (I don't know why they haven't just updated the vendors to sell the weapons for 500 poetics each - although I guess some people might still prefer to earn the tokens from raids.)
I was fortunate to have someone explain the process to me when I'd just reached Lv50, but otherwise it would have taken some figuring out. -

I was the only one that was doing aoe. The other bard did it sometimes... quick knock like 1-3 times each pull. No dot spreading, no mages, no armies, not even wanderers.
Used tactician as much as i could because that wasnt used either. My and my friends poor tp(she was war)
And then, the ast...
Uuuh the ast...
No dps? Fine, don‘t care.
Instead:
Drew an ewer at the beginning and had it on hand the whole dungeon. My friend was so annoyed by it. But okay...
They DID occasionaly draw cards. But didnt buff them whatsoever.

But... me, the bard, got all the boles??? And an spire in a bossfight???
My friend, the war got all the balances and spars???
The other bard got no cards ever??
Dawhut???
I mean they DID heal, nobody died, but...
We even told them who could use which card and what to do with buffs. But of course, deaf ears....
So i went ahead and clicked every card off. Give me at least a spire for big pulls then.
The number of asts not knowing how to duel is kinda high alltogether... -

And I'm not just jumping on a bandwagon. I have friends with this kind of mindset. While doing an Expert dungeon with said friends, I was (playfully) belittled for not trying to rip agro from our tank during a distance pull (I never do this--especially with randoms but also just in general because it's freaking RUDE) and was told at LB2 that no. They will not Limit Break because it would negatively effect their DPS. (*facepalm*). Your WHMs attitude wouldn't have made it past the run of Alpha 4 where I was RDM and basically off-heals because one of the healers kept going down. My numbers, if I cared to look, for that battle were likely terrible but WE DIDN'T WIPE. I feel like so many people are missing the point. You are a good friend for supporting your roommate. Just let them know that for every healer who only cares about themselves there are others like your friend who can see the bigger picture. Raiders will want a healer that can DPS without losing sight of what really matters, which is the overall health of the team and not just their own personal score.Quote:

It finally happened to me. The legendary purple marker stacking on the stack marker in Alpha 4.0 normal. DRG wiped the party. Second run succeeded without issue though the DRG also proceeded to smack Omega-M when he was supposed to be smacking Omega-F. This was eventually corrected after 2 reminders. No insults were flying around but I think he was being judged silently.
Oh and a DPS instantly ditched the run before the barrier went down. Duty finder is great.
