My Thread Revived lol? NICE!
But as an update to my OP
I Actually have changed my stance on Titan Ex (A Bit)
While I find the fight very individual dependent, it is a healthy check to understand dodging, and how to step up dps in movement heavy fights (New Coil is a great example of this, except t8)
Although I still find it funny with 20% echo people still have trouble getting passed its insta kill moves.
Just got the mission last night. Can't wait to give it a go.
Stops being fun when you're at it for weeks and everyone who claims to know what they are doing, actually don't. People who suck keeps ruining it for people who has the skill to actually clear it. I'm not an expert, but it sucks when I make a "Clear Group" and we can't even get past the "heart phase" cause someone is eating dirt or committed suicide. No none should die in a "Clear Group" before the Super Bombs!
The likes on his post seriously concern me. Why do people want to faceroll content?
Please SE, do not reward them. The primals are fine. If anything, they should be more difficult.
Every mistake in "The Impossible Game" is an instant kill. Also every single part of it is skripted without any random behavior. It's extremely frustrating but also extremely fun to a lot of people.
I'm just getting tired of asking people to stack and no one stacking >..> I'll get past this one day... It just may send me crazy
I hate the jerk, and I haven't beaten it yet, but I have to say... with a good group, training is fun instead of frustrating. Now that I learned to dodge most things (working on the first set of bombs after the adds), I am certanly enjoying myself more than I did training for Garuda EX :/
So frustrated. Last night I was with a really great PF group. Got to the super bomb phase, everyone was alive and kicking and that's when my Comcast decided to stop working. He was probably at about 30-35% health and we were doing great when I got disconnected for over an hour.
It's because of post like that, that everything is going so easy. For me Titan Ex is one the funniest fight to play in this game. I wish I can see more falling stuff in this game.
Funny thing is that people are raving about dodging mechanics in new mmos. It's becoming the standard in the mmo "meta" (if you will). Removal from fights is harsh, but much too easy content might be a bit worse.
Nobody recently has complained about dodging mechanics. The last few comments were more about being stuck in a lot of bad groups who can't clear it. That's my main issue.
Good for you Devildante ^_^ I feel the same, I'll simply pointing to any who don't enjoy the fight that their pain is totally self inflicted. I enjoy the Titan fight myself (only done HM but I'm sure I'll enjoy EX too) and find instant KO's / knockouts raise the thrill (edge of your seat) level.
It's not about the difficulty of the content. There are clearly people who enjoys Titan Ex and are capable of clearing it. It's about newbies screwing up a good group. Players who haven't had enough practice yet keeps joining kill groups and ruining it for the players who's been practice for weeks to get a clear. What concerns me is that when I find myself in a kill party where we can't even get past the heart phase. That's what frustrating about Titan, not being able to find a decent group.
Then you haven't looked at Leviathan Extreme, he does the same thing. It's a factor to make the game more difficult. If you can't handle the mechanic you're probably not suited / prepared for it.
To be honest, it's pretty easy to dodge the landslides if you know the rotation. A game without instant kill mechanics would be too monotone, and it would make it boring in the end.
One day, I'll get a decent group on Garuda Ex so that I may progress to Titan Ex and rage there.
Then the solution is to reduce the difficulty or remove such punishing mechanics? This is a personal problem. If you lose patience with inexperience players it's on you to find Linkshell or FC where you can rely on your friends abilities. Again, people have different levels of patience and some like to support new players who are learning, so it's a personal issue (but one I can definitely sympathize with). It's up to you how patient you are willing to be with groups, since the EX Primals content is completely optional. My vote is to keep the difficulty high and punishing! What about those players in statics who want Extreme content to actually be extreme? There's plenty of casual content, let's allow them some content to stay challenging. It's not fair to nerf the optional hard content just so that PUG's can clear with less stress.
It's already monotonous. Everything in this game is scripted anyway. Just memorize, everything.
There's no element of surprise, unless I am missing something. I personally hate instant kill mechs.
While Titan's stuff is scripted, the lag is a problem or something. Even on Titan Hard, I'm 100% out of his aoe things and
I'm still hit. One person dies and it's gg from there. It's just an artificial thing to make it seem like it's difficult
but it's annoying.
Also, 666 post. :c ... -Cries;
Well I am glad they did something different then. I haven't done any Levi's yet.
Memorizing the same patterns happening at the exact same time every time is super hard.
At least implement {Tractor}...
Ehh, I think some things in Titan are a little too tuned. My groups finally managed to get past him, but it really depends a lot on who has just a smidge of lag that day. Folks running to get out of plumes and just being a hair late because their lag got them. On a good day, with good connections, we do pretty good. We're good about getting our fallen up, and good about those fallen not croaking immediately...We very rarely have people sent flying off the platform, and yeah...We're "There" I think in getting the fight down...But the fact that success or failure for us is dependant on if everyones connection is 100% stable today is really annoying.
Like the fight...Hate that lag kept us from getting it down sooner, and keeps us from downing it still some days.
Now, as one of my group's tanks, I have a raging hate fire for Ifrit...Stupid stacking fire breath debuff with no cooldown...I JUST PROVOKED YOU WHY DO I HAVE 4 STACKS ALREADY?!
TL;DR.....
I would consider levi ex to be the most fair and equal balance between difficultly and reward. It does knock you off the edge, but it gives you plenty of time to identify and most importantly, interact. I feel the Dev team did a much better job this time around balancing this fight.
I would get use to primals having the ability to remove you from the fight. Looks like Ramuh has a small circle platform that you probably can fall off of.
I think people are underestimating the word "extreme". In my opinion this is something not meant for everyone to do easily, it's suppose to have "annoying" elements as well as being very difficult. I think Titan Extreme is a good example of how an extreme really should be. It takes tons of practice as well as a good team (which in a way "forces" you to work with others and build up a proper group). Leviathan extreme is way too easy in my opinion. Getting a farm group is fairly easy, you don't need great gear and it's easy to dodge the mechanics. It doesnt really give off any "extreme" wibes. Tbh, i think Levi ex is easier than Ifrit ex :-/
I full-heartedly agree. My only issue with the Ex Fights was the balancing around Item Level. I believe titan ex was i70, but even i90 players couldn't complete it based on outside issues (back then there was a bigger delay in instances, and the mechanics in general are pretty bad, just dodge and weave.) I feel that coil difficulty is the pinnacle of extreme, and primal extremes should be made somewhat farm-able. But I'm all for challenge, not just face rolling content.
And who are you to judge what is extreme for other players?
Difficult is nothing you can choose for all, every player have different talents!
We are all playing to have fun, not to have a part time job...
I wonder why you even care what "others" are thinking, make sure you have fun and all is fine, or isnt it? ... seriously??
T2 not enrage mode > all bosses.
Best fight in the game, extremely well designed. It's my favorite.
