First is EW second was the benchmark. He looks kinda waxy now and i had to adjust his skintone a little cause something about the original looked off. Definitely nerfed his eyelashes :(
my little beauty mark wasnt working properly but i havent seen others have this issue so might just be my benchmark being funny.
I think the nose mark was nice being subtle since the other faces had more prominent ones.
And others have said this but the ear textures def are not finished, and the catchlights being gone make them look pretty dead inside.

A lot of the "off" feeling of Face 3 is due to the mouth, which is notably changed in all of its styles. The eyelash nerf is super sad too. :( I've seen at least one other report of beauty mark issues, but it works fine in my client, so I can't verify the cause. It might be a strange settings thing? Or importing an appearance. I don't have an appearance saved with the mark, so I've been adding it live in the benchmark.

I think for most of us Veena players, the issue isn't that the vibrancy is brighter. It's that Veena pupils are much smaller than they used to be, and it has a notable impact on character expressions.

The blush is less noticeable now but that could be due to lighting, and the new bone structure will take getting used to but I adore the better freckles. very much looking forward to DT

Whatever people's issue with it is, is completely fair! Personally I happen to like it, but it is a completely different eye than how it was before so I can definitely see why someone would not. :)

this is nose 6 i believe? on face 1 male viera, and i know they wanted to smooth the models a bit to make it higher quality, but i feel like they've smoothed things down a bit TOO much, and it's removed much of the personality and uniqueness in some of the facial features. i really like the little nose bump and pointed end of this nose, but now it looks so rounded, and it gives off a completely different feel :( the dark nose marking is also barely visible, and i'd like to see it restored to its original colour

I want to second this! This nose has the most character of all the male viera nose options, and it's really disappointing to see it smoothed away. I can understand that as some aspects of the faces become higher poly, the shape changes slightly, but as male Viera were added in Endwalker their models seemed like they needed the least updating of the races. The bumps on this nose especially should be treated as a deliberate design choice and not a flaw to be fixed. While some of the issues brought up in this thread can be slightly mitigated by making changes to your character, this nose is both larger and more aquiline than any other option available, so there is no comparative option for a player to fall back on.

Oh... oh no... now I'm scared to check my viera's side profile, his bumpy nose is one of his charm points...

My friend recreated my viera yesterday in the character creator, and I was excited because the previews I had seen looked beautiful. Sadly, I was severely disappointed.

One of my favourite features about my viera were the white eyelashes, matching the hair color. In the benchmark, they are severely toned down. It drastically changes his appearance. The lower lashes don't even seem to be white anymore at all.
I also feel like the overall look is very harsh. The nose has been darkened. The lips are less defined and appear flat, they lost their shine, and the colors are dark and muddy. I think an option for lip shine would be perfect, since I personally don't like the matte look.

I just miss the softer and more androgynous look of my original viera.

These are the kind of changes that drive me the most nuts. It feels like whoever is overseeing these designs believes any sharp lines or edges is a mistake that must be smoothed out into homogeneity. I think a lot of people forget that artists work within their restrictions, not against them. Lots of these details were more than likely intentional because they give clear, specific character impressions. They're not "accidents" just because their models are older.

Ugh, it's like when people use frame interpolation to force carefully crafted animations into 60fps. I do hope they take these issues on with a more discerning eye...

I'm also sad about these changes. She's beautiful, but not herself anymore ;(. She kinda lost her cuteness in a way, she looks more serious now. Not sure how to explain it better. Her eyes are especially bad due to the smaller pupil, her upper lip seems a bit smaller than before as well. Love her new hair, but her face just doesn't look the same anymore.

I kinda see some good, but I agree with many others, a few of the things that made him very much him, is gone. The eyes bother me the most, and well I guess as someone who likes the more male look of the original, although I see all the work done, just doesn't feel right or sit well with me personally. to me it feels a but like he lost his will to fight, like he is done with it all. I even see it all through the benchmark, its just not the same character for me. (My elezen on the other hand I love everything with so its the bun sadly)
