Can we get normal manly males ?

Speaking of manly, I just reached level 70 and bought some new armour from the market board.

I am staggeringly sure this is a dress with shoulder pads...

Final Fantasy games have had numerous masculine playable characters, so I do not agree that people are playing the 'wrong game' to desire more conventionally attractive/masculine options for male characters.

It's intriguing to me that it is almost always people playing female characters who are swift to downplay concerns and requests based around male characters, though.

Meanwhile the females got catered more to in the nier raids as well. Where they got an entire coffer set of feminine clothes yet males got nothing in that regard. Totally fair and balanced...

Is the example tired out purely because its a direct counter to your claim? Its the truth. You can argue oh we got a direct line... but so did females for 2b, so why did you guys get a coffer for her glams but us males(and females who are interested in the gear) not get it? It's clear cut pandering. Its not just one example. Like you said, look at almost every healer and caster set. Look at some of the eden sets. Look at the constant hairstyles that are put out geared toward feminine characters or androgynous. The list goes on and on, and i dont think its a coincidence like someone else said, that its mainly female characters that typically "dont see the issue." What's tiring, is males constantly being overlooked. Thats whats tiring sweetie. Not me reiterating a factual point of favortism.

Can we say that objectively males get overlooked especially when it comes to fashion which is highly subjective and boils down to a matter of taste?

Or are we seeking a Asian ran company and developer's to cater to a more western ideal of manliness and masculinity that is also being challenged by within the current social climate.

The norms are shifting to be more fluid and independently influenced. I think the times of a standard heroic figure are going to fade away. Best just get use to it.

Outside of a few cases like the 2b coffer and even then my Roe looks manly in his outfit.

The diversity and representation card only works one way sadly.

Did some digging through the marketboard on my fem elezen alt and tried on the fending armor that was available. To be honest, outside of a few outliers like the Adamantite Lorica having abs chiseled into it and the Neo Ishgardian top turning into a long dress, none of the armor sets really seemed to lean too far into being considered very feminine or masculine. The pieces with open chests had a bra added underneath, and some of the sets looked more robe-like with heavy armor added over the top and the Nightsteel Armor is absolutely a dress with spiky shoulders, but that's about it.

Challenged by a very vocal microcosm on Twitter, in woke academia etc.* And when push comes to shove, many of these ardent man-hating types actually appear to have an attraction for the very type of man they try to vilify.

And tbf, they have a pretty large market in the West, so they ought to know their customer base.

However, even in countries like China, what is seen as originating as a subversive push against the Japanese to feminise and thereby weaken their men, is now rejected in strong terms by the China's ruling party, which has little time for that kind of thing. I don't think it will be long until this happens in Japan as well. It's not like this game is aimed at anything but a rather small minority of the Japanese public.
