What really irks me about this is the amount of threads that popped up when people found out these plans were going to be in the cash shop clamoring that they should be available in game FOR GIL. I see these same people in here complaining that people are selling them. It's so funny that my side hurts from laughing so much lolololololol

In the end, the amount of people who have millions of gil lying around and would give that to some other player for this rather than just paying the $20 directly probably isn't all that big, given that everyone in this game is paying a subscription as it stands. In that sense, it's sort of skimming off the top from people with more gil than they have ways to spend it. It's likely that the amount of wealth to be redistributed through this method isn't going to be all that large. (Plus, given the max trade is 1 million gil, anything above that involves added risk from both parties.)

Now, maybe the dye thing will be more common, but even then, having to trade a potentially-valuable item with someone on faith that they'll dye it and give it back to you is probably not worth the risk for most people. It's much easier to just buy the dye yourself for the few dollars it costs, for better or worse. (I suppose they could always sell it on the Market Boards pre-dyed, but it requires someone who'd be willing to pay the premium rather than just buying the $1 dye.)

I think the objection is more in principle because people can see that it's going on, and there will be some examples of people who do it and "get away with it." And also, of course, fear of how it might get worse.

Ahah silly SE trusting its userbase to do the 'right' thing. No sir, nothing morally wrong with free trading within ToS.

Clearly, SE did nothing wrong in this sense. They meant for it to be tradable so it can be gifted to their partners. It's players abusing the feature. If anyone is to blame, you guys should start a thread and point those pitchforks to those bad apples.

However, I still stand my point that vanity items in cash shop is fine.

Or they're re-upping it because they're selling a lot of them? I bought two off of the same person. He had also apparently previously sold at least one.

Better hurry up and sell it, it's getting patched in 2 hours.

They said they would like but they wont meaning they know and since they haven't done anything about it.

It isn't against Tos meaning its okay.

I seen what he said but read between the lines.

I personally don't care if people are making gil off the item, no need to get bent out of shape about others making gil.

I haven't even done it but doesn't mean I am going to whine about it on forums about others making profit, its not going to halt me from beating content or ruin my day on a virtual world.

Not sure why it bugs you all so badly.

Matter of fact, I am about to steer clear of forums for a few months, I am tired of reading the same posts worded different ways.
