I completely disagree. SE has a nasty habit of making races that are just humans with ears of who knows what. The only real race is Hrothgar. Otherwise, remove the ears and tail (if any) and everyone turns into Hyur.

People didn't accept hrothgar hairs with no ears, so hrothgar got ears, and quickly too considering. People accept this? Viera might get some headgear, but good luck with ever having ears with them ever again.

So what do you propose then ? Should they just cut out holes on every full plate helmet ? It really doesn't look good on heavy armor.

That would still be preferred to having no headgear, since I could just remove the headgear to get my ears back.

Imo these are not comparable problems. Viera aren't earless with new hairstyles and never needed to Fantasia just to change between a couple existing styles, they got a big update today with some unexpected things. This is a niche scenario in which people who play Viera should have the option to choose if they'll tolerate having their ears covered or not. I would rather have the choice than the choice be made for me by revoking all visibility of a piece of gear. People who want helmets should have the ability to use them even if it offers some compromises and I don't think it's fair to suggest that we have to take all or nothing. We all probably prioritize different things. For you headgear might be a big deal but to me it isn't. I'm heavily in the camp that cares about hair but could live without most headgear and not notice or experience any FOMO.

I mean it was clearly communicated that both Viera and Hrothgar will be heavily limited races when it comes to hairstyles and headgear so i don't get why so many people are so confused about this. Take what you get but don't expect what was denied and never promised in the first place.

If you read through the current conversation nobody is confused about the lack of headgear. In fact, the debate is currently about headgear that IS visible and enabled. For the record these new raid helmets delete Miqo ears too so it isn't even a conversation exclusively pertaining to Viera and Hrothgar, it's about what compromises people are willing to make when it comes to racial features and glamour.

The big irony is if they continue at their current pace of updates Viera will have a bigger and more varied selection of hairstyles than Miqo, Lalas, etc. by the time 7.0 drops. and that is all because people made it clear that updates were desired.

ear pockets, my friend. Add metalic bunny ears on top of these helmets, and problem solved

This was a good batch of hair and we now know new styles are built for all races. Between this and some lucky rolls in panda, today has been a most excellent patch day :o
