Vilhem you are my hero :D
Haha no prob. Just thought I'd post them since I remembered seeing that Miqo'te XD
I'll also point out that there is a lot of unused stuff in the 1.0 dats. I don't know if it'd be right for me to post things like that, but it definitely could be picked apart by you lore hunters XD
Oops that Miqo'te is in "Legends Adrift" CS 2 not CS 1.
We do need to be careful with how we interpret these horns.
One of the hallmarks of the crystal tools engine was that it made a single asset as an object and then copied that asset wherever it was needed. This means that any horn used in game is an extraction of the "horn" asset in the graphical files.
The same horn? A similar horn? Any old horn? This is very difficult to identify under the 1.0 framework.
There is this musician's horn after all, which also uses the same graphical model:

From when you break up the angry miners with F'lhaminn in Court in the Sands.
The real question is: Why aren't more people talking about the fact Rowena was clearly employed by Nael van Darnus?!
People think because Van Darnus was collecting Allagan Tomestones that Rowena was collecting them for him. She states it's for an Ishgardian noble but says she's never seen him.
I'm not sure what to think of these Horns. They seem to have some kind of power and an Ascian/henchman took one of the Horns in the Limsa storyline. The Ul'dah Horn which seemed to have a power to anger monsters is currently MIA. And it seems Moogles have the Gridania Horn. I definitely agree with the whole skin system for horns, but I'd say at least the ones from the 3 City states scenarios have some kind of powers to quell, anger, or control monsters.
Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, been busy. Hope Ferne gets a chance to check out questions we've brought up in the previous pages.
I get the feeling that they're uncommon, but not rare, type of "beastmen" horns that have different functions. Taming, angering, and whatnot.
The Limsa one definitely was of higher importance than the other horns, so much the Limsa storyline centers on Y'shtola trying to recover it.
As for the Ul'dah horn, I have reason to believe Corguevais is still alive somewhere, and thus, still has it with him.
I would agree with the horns having same skin for every horn in-game but we see them in two CSs that aren't ordinary CSs ..they are better graphics voice acted CSs..and everything that happens in those two CSs is unique ..so i think everything in them was done more carefully ...so those 2 horns looking alike is no coincidence for me..
They still use the same assets. The voiced cutscenes tell your computer to render at a higher quality rate than normal CS's or gameplay.
Here you can see Corguevais with the horn on his waist :)

yeah that is the horn the mammet blows and makes the gobbue go crazy ...as Corguevais says apparently Nielle made that Mammet play the horn at that moment for a better show but it ended up supposedly costing Warburton his life (Ascilia's father) ..I guess Fernehalwes has to confirm this.. if the look of the horns is cuz of crystal tool or they look how they have to look
Yeah I hope Ferne can give us an explanation sometime of what Corguevais' purpose was and what happened to him. Course it'd be nice to know if they can't tell us cause the story will explained in 2.0. I'd go with that too. The one Echo scene with the Lala Twins coming back to the Chocobo stables is what made me think he was killed, since they say they took care of it. Also I'd say it would be hard for 2 Chocobos to pull a Carriage and outrun 2 Lalafells on separate Chocobos. But it brings up more questions, what did they do to him, what happened to the horn. If he got away then was he a Garlean spy, what happened to the horn (repeat). I really like that there's no solid answer right now, unless I totally MISSED something from the Cutscenes, but I've watched them enough to feel like an expert lol.
Regardless at the moment we can say there's ATLEAST 3 special Horns in Eorzea. 1 from Ul'dah, 1 from Limsa, 1 from Gridania. Ul'dah and Gridania's Horn(s) seem to be able to quell or enrage monsters. Limsa's Horn is able to free a sea monster? The Wandering Minstrel brought us horns from a land faraway (I think the name is mentioned) which gave us the power to summon and ride our Goobbues.
Did you watch/enjoy it? >_>
Also, Neille purposely made the goob go berserk so that his party (himself, F'lhaminn, the lala twins and the roegadyn) could be billed as Ul'dah's "heros" once they took care of the goob. Then Thancred showed up and stole his thunder LOL. His party is naive in their ideallistic quest, and so they weren't seriously counting on casualties (collateral damage).
They passed out the flowers because it was believed that they were rare and warded off beasts. Prior to the parade, Neille was said to be buying them en-masse. He even buys the one the player has. Neille knew what the horn could do, it wasn't a matter of making the parade a better show.
Here's some more screengrabs of the horn to satiate your thirst for knowledge! It's enormous compared to the Limsa one (Sthalmann was holding it in his fingers almost, whereas the Ul'dah one..damn its big o_O)

Yeah this is what I tried to get at in an earlier post (damn my English sometimes LOL)
There could be many magical horns throughout the realm that serve different functions. I'd assume they are rare enough to where the common folk wouldn't easily have access to them, but not rare enough to where only 2-3 would be the only ones in existence. Limsa's horn/key/relic function is unknown as of now, but Ul'dah's seems to enrage monsters, while the moogles' seem to posess one that tames them. And of course, our own goobbue horn fits in with these somewhere!

I covered the Ul'dah storyline in depth which lead to the discovery of Ascilia = Minfilia http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post910450
Nielle and his circle are sons and daughters of Syndicate members, the objective was to have Greinfarr kill the Goobbues and be a Gladiator hero, but it didn't go according to plans. Instead of just breaking free, they went on a rampage. Also one thing I noticed about the Ul'dah Horn is it puts monsters to sleep before it enrages them. I think I bring this up in my summary. Pretty good read if you haven't read it already. Basically it all comes down to the 3 City-states scenarios being an Echo.
Here's my timeline post: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post916706
Yes I saw it Noloe! It's a good explanation :)
Whats this lol..no more speculations?
I would have thought there'd be more speculations with the vid I posted <.< Maybe when Christmas break is overXD
Nadda on my end, don't think Ferne is going to answer any of those questions I had a page or 2 back either. Maybe once they have their christmas vacation and aren't busy with alpha.
Edit: btw Merry Christmas every one of my Lore buddies and devs of the Localization forum and to everyone out there reading this thread hoping for something juicy but only finding crickets and seasons greetings.
Yes, Happy Starlight.
We can toss around some more ideas after Heavensturn.
Wouldn't it be awesome if we got the semi-mechanical version of Bahamut to fight for us against the real one in the Labyrinth? :D
I wonder do we ever meet adult Fye?
Maybe you guys (especially Noloe) can have some fun with these :3

Indeed :p Methinks its part of what got scrapped for the Bahamut story
There is people asking why there wasn't a single Dragoon in the "End of an Era" trailer or the possibility that the Elezen male that left the gang became a Dragoon...what people forget is that once you become an Azure Dragoon you swear loyalty to Ishgard and your sole purpose is to be there and protect it from dragons...you can't become one and leave Ishgard to keep adventuring lore-wise
Thanks for clearing that up =D I wasn't sure about that one. I'll re-title it.
That could be it as well..though it could also be part of the "threat" the cities faced..I guess we'll never know for sure :x
Yeah like Warlock said, the reason why we don't have characters who represent a Dragoon or a Monk are because Dragoons are solely from Ishgard and Monks are from Ala Mhigo. We know Ala Mhigans have their own unit within the Immortal Flames, they might have been represented at the Battle of Cartaneau Flats. Widargelt is the only Monk we know that has escaped from Ala Mhigo, if Monks were represented in the fights I'd say they would be on the Imperial side, since the VIIth Legion was mostly made from Ala Mhigans that they captured and kids they brainwashed.
About Sirens, even in old Greek legends the Sirens could look like women to lure the sailors to their deaths. We can assume that our FF versions of Sirens are similar, Miqo-style. As for the Titan video, there should be a similar video of the "Titan Stronghold" which contains a CS that has 3 NPCs (unnamed?) in it, 2 with glowing staves and 1 with a bow. I'd assume those are the characters that the voices belong to. Kinda sucks that they had Titan all planned out, I would like to know the story myself, I'm sure there's a completely different story for Titan in 2.0. Either way I'm sure 1.0 and 2.0 Titan and Leviathan involved The Company of Heroes, can't wait to meet them.

I have not been able to find a female midlander that shares the combination of charcoal hair and red eyes characteristic of Fye and Dunstan.
You can bet I'll be keeping my eyes peeled in ARR.
I think they're pretty set in stone even without this. Let's not forget there's 1 in each of the City state scenarios. I'm sure they will pop up again in 2.0 and even if they don't (we know Minfilia will be around) because they basically want to 'scrap' the storyline. We all will atleast know how things got to where they are. We'll know the REAL story.Quote:
Yeah this one has to be found still to set in stone the theory of the Ascilia>Minfilia Khrimm>Hermit
