It's an option you can ignore.
The same you can also say about the 2.0 relic quests, with doing Coil over and over and over again to farm light

If you like the fixed secondary stats

45/80, 0/4 HQ items, 7 Oils... I was hoping for a nerf on this step in this patch but looks like there will be none...

I only now started with Vanu Vanu and Gnath beast tribes...hoping it makes it a bit faster..

Added my Hyperconductive Gandiva this week after getting my 5th oil. It joins my Hyperconductive Majestas, Deneb and Hyergelmir. I'm looking forward now to see what the next stage of the relic brings to the table, hopefully it won't be too painful. lol

So far, the HW relic grind has been the most punishing yet. By this time, I would have had 3 relics done yet I am still only 78/80 and have 3/4 of the crafted items (yea for material shortages). At this point, I don't know which class to go after as I turned in my previous 3 relics.

I wish they would have made the whole relic quest easier so I could have got it for multiple jobs but alas... they are still stuck in the "Hard is Fun!" mentality.

At least for step 2 they pulled their heads somewhat out of their ass and brought interest back to Crystal Tower; but that first grind is nauseating and shows the devs to be remarkably lazy in its concern.

It's not laziness but simple practicality. You may be bored to death of Alex, however there are plenty of new players who haven't even reached it yet. Content like this is designed specifically to keep people doing old content all while getting rewarded for doing so.

Only 4 more unidentifiables and tben I will FINALLY get my hyperconductive anima weapon!!! Yay for me!

Got my enchanted rubber last week. At 14 shells, 17 ores, 10 seeds. Already have the crafted items and all 5 oils. I am still dying inside. Someone please save me.

Finished my Hyperconductive Nothung Monday over all it wasn't some huge over the top grind people are making it out too be.

Doing just basic duty roulette every day for just the eso bonus is 13,200 tomes in a month this isn't even counting dungeon tome amounts or any bonus.

13,000 eso is just about the perfect amount for 20 uni items.

Hell no! did peoples frogot that you needed 1500 tomes x9 for each book and only sufficient way was to spam mythflox nonstop, after that crap you actually had to do that book that easily could take whole day if you were unlucky with FATE's. Book part was and still is the crappiest step in original relic.

I'm currently 19 items away from my first relic. I passed on it when it first released, and with the announcement of the stat assignment I decided to get it just incase it can beat the raid weapon.

I should hopefully have it in a week.

See for me I would take those books because it tells me exactly what I had to do in any books. This 200-210 is just a mindless freaking grind and you just have to push through it, and it also forces me to do things I normally don't want to do like beast tribes, also not everyone is rich or are crafters and having to spend around 3mil on the crafting part is bullshit, id rather deal with tomes than having to use my gils and I will only be able to afford one relic and it really pisses me off because Id really want to do more but I just cant afford it. Thats just me though and my opinion. I think I said enough on this subject.

Guess everyone has a different point of view. I liked the books most of all (except the brayflox grind to actually get them!). Me and my nephew would both buy a book at the same time then help each other clearing all the tasks in it before starting again.

Worst for me was the light grind, just doing something over and over for a tiny amount of light lol arghhhh

anyway re progress, I have 5 hyperconductives, will probably finish a 6th just before patch, and think that will be my last one

Well, I decided to grind the Zetas even with those Animus Books. And I had reasons.

1. I hate FATE grinding, especially for leveling. I like to learn my class by doing dungeons. So I end up doing FATE grinding for just DRK, MCH and AST

2. The long road of getting unident. Items. It takes a lot of time to get those. So instead of grinding them I used the time to complete books. Waiting for fates/Queues and did some real stuff in the meanwhile.

3. The 170 > 200 step involves Zodiac drops, so does Books. It was great to combine those steps

4. Glamour! I like the WHM Zeta more than the current Anima Version, same goes to BRD. I wanted to make sure I can glamour the Zetas anytime I want to.

My current progress though: I've got two Hyperconductives (WHM and DRK), a third in theory but I don't know if the beast tribe token will be of any other use in 3.3 (I hope not!) so I won't get the third weapon before 3.3.

The only Zeta missing is DRG. Only 7 Mahatamas left though.

Ok i'm putting this thread up again for asking which stats i should increase on my nothung in the next phase.

Primary stats can not be used as the stats you choose. Tanks have the choice between crit, det, accuracy, skillspeed and parry. As far as i am aware parry is still a joke for tanks, skillspeed is not needed except on warriors to get enough for berserk attacks, accuracy tends to be not needed on relics due to the amount on tomestone/raid gear. And crit and det increase your dps the most.

7 Unidentifiable Seeds away from Majestas. So close I can taste it.

I'm still on the low drop chance crystal fate-farming.

Its so boring running around putting so much effort into fates for only a few gil and some seals. I am not even sure if the crystals can drop for classes other than the one you are doing the anima quest for. Otherwise I would be doing the fate grind on my MCH and DRK both of which are at the level 51/52 mark and could actually use the exp.

If you have the quest open they can drop from a fate from any class :). Also the drop rate is being buffed in 3.3 so hopefully that will help you :)

Tbh I haven't even started with it yet. I'm way too lazy to grind more than I already have to (equipment and so on), so I'm sticking with my ilvl210 weapon.

My alt Tiffa should have all her unidentifieds today after roulettes. She is 21/21/19/20/7oils and 7/16 craftables. Going to personally wait to see what the new relics look like. I need to decide which role I want to do on her account with BLM. SMN, WHM, PALLY and ASTRO to pick from.

Im now at 35/80 16/16 7/5 oils. I'm going to stop rushing it and take my time. I still don't know if I want to get WHM or SCH

Update:70/80 4/4 HQ items, 5 Oils ready, 5 Ores and 5 bones left

While I'm happy they reduce the mats needed to craft the items, I'm still not doing another Relic. Step i210 was too ridiculous to finish the first time.

^ What, they haven't reduced the amount of unidentifiable items required at all this patch? Disappointing. Anyways, I need like 8 more seeds left after weeks and weeks.... I play both ninja and whm, but I heard that the ninja weapon is one of the worst from reddit. Too many decisions to make...

And NIN is my main so I can confirm the NIN Anima Relic sucks royally with its stats. This next step will fix it, but I wish you could customize its stats earlier.

I have all the HQ crafted items though and 4/5 on aether oils.

I'd have been finished with my 3rd relic last week, but I had forgot to actually flag the first quest so unfortunately for me I've wasted the last few months occasionally doing fates and wondering why I hadn't gotten any crystals.

However.. about 3 days after flagging the quest I now have all the crystals except for the 3 I need from Sea of Clouds.

I already have all 80 unidentified items and currently have about 7 Aether Oils.

All I have to do is get the 3 crystals, run the dungeons and get my HQ items and I'll be finished.

I don't plan on doing any more anytime soon.

ok i must admit i don't know where to start for grinding the mats for this step. which is the best way for grinding this time ?
