Hioki you just made me lol, but seriously they could give the OP a 3000 potency attack every 10 seconds and that still probably won't be good enough from what I read during 60 pages of ranting.

To be fair, PLD has a lot of issues, DPS is like #3 of a ten point list.
If switching jobs without gear penalty was easier I'm not certain this thread would be as lengthy as it. That's really my #1 issue. The armory system is terrible.
We have less enmity modifiers on our skills than both WAR and DRK which is absurd considering their main combos are both more potent dps-wise than PLD's combos. Lack of aoe damage makes them somewhat trivial to even run dungeons with because WAR and DRK have the ability to burst everything down much faster while not making healing much more difficult on the group thanks to bloodbath and said aoe damage. Instead of continuing my dismay for what PLD has become I thankfully don't have a savage group for 3.0 as PLD is the only thing I gear with ESO. As such I've had the time to level warrior and now I can have a raid group while using a few pieces of my PLD gear ( Alex nq slaying right side, fending belt) still no mention from the dev team re:PLD changes so it's time to join the dark side in favor of stronger potency higher damaging jobs that simply get the job done better- and more easily at that. RIP 3.0-3.1 PLD, see you in October ( I hope)
There is no dark or light side my friend. There is only one side.... And it's the one with the WAR on it! :>
PLD's combos also have more hits that have an enmity modifier than WAR and DRK. WAR and DRK have 1 combo that has the enmity modifier on, PLD has the main combo + Shield Swipe + Circle of Scorn. If anything, I think that's the reason in SE's minds to have lower modifiers. Whether that's justifiable or not, only SE knows.
The main issue with PLD is not only that its enmity modifiers are weaker, they have the weakest base potency with no permanent DPS buff (Maim/Darkside). So when you say PLD has a 260 potency on RoH, that's it. You may boost with FoF, but meh. WAR ends up with 336 on BB without Zerk/Unchained, which are crazy btw. And DRK has 345 on its Power Slash.
Well if there's no dark side, I guess I'm joining the war side?lol jokes aside still no mention from SE in regards to PLD so time to succumb to the axe/great sword like my fellow raiding PLD. /salute
That's EXACTLY how I'm viewing it. :) I did the same for healers pre ast buff and let that sit in isolation until they made it viable. Now it's my go to healer for dailies. Praying we get some news soon but last I remember they thought it was intelligent to wait until 3.1 to even consider making PLD enmity mods equal to DRK/wars. Sometimes I wonder what SE is doing when they prioritize masks showing on auras or adding bikinis to a cash shop over keeping all jobs viable in end game content.
B-but bikinis! I mean how else can we (E)RP? Yeah?
But yeah, PLD aggro (at the very least) should be SE's priority over anything else. I'm leveling my PLD atm and having a blast getting around all the clunk lol. But I know that is going to be an issue if I ever raid on it.
Psh. Summer is the time every Tank should be wearing a Bikini. Armor is so stuffy when it's 90+ degrees... and all that steam in Alexander just makes it worse!
There was a time last week where my efforts to get Pally to 60 led me to a Stone Vigil Normal in the Leveling Roulette. I shrugged and decided to play with my Flash usage and do something I generally never put much effort into: maximizing the time Flash renders enemies blind. It ended up being pleasantly helpful. I even discovered that bosses there weren't immune to Blind either. My party members may have been wondering why that silly Paladin was using Flash on a single target, but I was just putting on my sunglasses and going "can't touch this!" as Frost Breath harmlessly whisked by.
So yeah, there's some clunk around but it's still wistfully pleasant to find a new use or benefit to something that you'd never considered before :)
Speaking of "Vigils". When I was in Dusk Vigil at level 51-52, I used to mess around with Cover, Iron Will and such. So on the first boss, when the boss targeted the healer, I ran over and cover the heal, but made sure I'm out of the orange area. Boss stunned the healer and pulled them, then hit the healer, but instead, I got stunned and knocked up..... along with the melee who was flanking and the BLM who thought he was safe! It was hilarious that to save 1, I screwed the whole party! haha
Also Stoneskin is really cool in that fight.
Personally in AoE pulls, I flash once and then proceed to RoH splitting the first 2 hits on 1 target, then switch ROH a second, then first two hits on 3rd, and spreading swipes in between. Seems to work wonders as long as I watch out which mob is getting hit harder.
