These wings? No thank you. I'd rather not have a cluster**** like some of those other mmos. Surprisingly, being able to see where I'm going is more enjoyable than stumbling around blinded by the feathers.

Which is reason for it to actually show up in game! Seeing as we're about to be assaulting a Garlean controlled state, coming across that tech is a distinct possibility. Logic and lore dictation... imagine that!

And having Hellish Gear (Lore Tomes) with wings on the backs and side are ok even though there's no backstory of eorzeans with wings? Ever thought "oh, nice design." because that's all it is, a design of the gear.

And here's some good reasons: Cosmetic, Options, Role Playing

So while we're on the topic of why lore is still an invalid reason. How about using Primal Summons to defeat our enemies? Last I checked someone dismissed that idea even though we know Lady Iceheart defended us turning into Shiva. So why is this idea any different than Garlean Gunblades?

A FFXI/FFXIV 1.x player told me that he bought 4 copies of FFXIV ARR (because ffxiv 1.2x was fun, it gave us the hope that FFXIV ARR will be even better)
& give them to his FFXI buddies, after 1-2 months, all of them had quit.
(they don't like WOW, I was a WOW player, after I tried FFXIV 1.2x, I realized that SE is a better MMO company than Blizzard, WOW is just McDonald's IMO)

My previous FFXIV FC ,most members were FFXI players, it's one of the largest FFXI/FFXIV guild in China ,
Now ,the FC leader & many FFXI/FFXIV 1.2x members had quit

My second FC, it was the largest Taiwan FFXIV guild in Aegis, we had a lot of fun during FFXIV 1.2x,
I met some best mmo friends there, we helped each other to do the job quests, teamed up for exp, we played together everyday,
& I met some interesting English players too, very good memories, the community is the best I've ever seen in a MMO

Now, both FC are dead, no one talks in FC channel,
FFXIV is a MMO, a "massive multi player" game, but why it makes people feel lonely, feels like playing a single player game?
Sometimes I ask myself, why I keep playing this? for tomes or glamour? no, I miss the old days, I hope I can have some fun with my FC mates again, and meet some new friends in this game, I know I am not the only one feeling this way.

SE marketing and corporate are trolling so hard now, the precedent has been set by the reaction to the China dresses. SE will leak/give a certain item to the China region, people over in NA will complain and say "we'll pay whatever X to get it please release in NA!" Then, SE goes "oh well I guess we have to release Y item from China to NA at some Z markup price!"

People channeled their WoW hatred to F2P hatred now.

This guy nailed it a few days ago, people feel like they are superior because they pay a sub and any game that doesn't charge for a sub is automatically bad or inferior
