Patch 1.18 release date now looking grim for july??

That was months ago. Since then, nothing other than "there's some story stuff in 1.18".

And please don't come and tell me that changing some of the dialogue of 3 or 4 NPCs is months worth of work. That's just ridicolous. Fiddling around with what the NPCs say is not the content they talked about nor is it important in the slightest since, think about it, they've been yabbering about "the impending doom" for months now.

You'd think the people of Eorzea would be kind of tired of talking about it by now. I know I am.

Hi Colino,

When did I ever say "changing some of the dialogue... is months worth of work"? I've stated that there are a lot of inter-dependencies which leads to little tangible information that can be released, let alone the Grand Company being rushed to release earlier than now.

It's a hyperbole, a rethorical question. I put it that way because I found it funny that you mentioned they added 2 lines of dialogue to 3 NPCs as if it's a grand thing.

I'm not "very angry", I'm just frustrated that some people can't remove their fanboy goggles and realise that this particular feature has been either completely scrapped (for the moment) or it's just not at the point where they can tell us more about it. In that case they shouldn't have teased us about it in the first place because, you might recall, they went on and on for several weeks about this Grand Company thing and how awesome it was going to be.

I'm not even talking about you specifically. And don't get me wrong I love the game, why else would I still be playing it despite sounding like someone that threw his copy down the toilet? ^^

If I were a betting man, I'd say it hits next week. This assuming we get another piece of info before Monday.

You'd think you'd use common sense and realize everything is done in one go -- the only time a company will actively change minor things is if it's an event only and they're doing nothing else.

SE has a lot to do with FFXIV which is why it takes "months" to change NPC dialogue, because they change/implement things at a time (Patch/Updates). It's been like this since FFXI and FMO days, however unlike FFXI event and development, they don't have to do both on the same cycle, and a lot of XI's events are already done and just touched up every now and then, but it never accompanies major development like it is in XIV.

Overhauling a game from the foundation to actual content is a long progress, no matter who you are or who you work for -- people can't assume WoW's cataclysm was done on the spot and thrown out just like that, even if it was basically a "redo" expansion pack, it took awhile for them to do as they did foundation and content work for it.

I don't think 1.18 patch will save this game or make it much better

from the auto attack video they shown last month, it's nothing!

battle still slow like slug, lack of animation and effect, no voice overs and abysmal boring

even FF13 or The Last Remnant battle system is better than this game by miles

you have to understand some people will take those 2 lines of content to say what a wonderful job is being done. no matter what little piece of anything is added you will have some people talk about how much of a game changer that one line of text is.
