They probably mean adgjustments like fat Miqo'te, because team is awared that after ShB trailer people asked about possibility to play as fat characters in the future.

Yup - it’d be great news if they found a cost efficient way to deal with the models, since it also means the high res asset texture conversion is that much more feasible, but this is extremely limited information that can be taken as future proofing and not necessarily much more than that. They had specifically called out body types like the chunkier miqo’te as being very challenging to implement during JP fanfest, so I’m doubtful that this has much to do with that... unless they’re keeping their cards close to their chest.

If you go watch missteqs video with her interviewing yoshi p she asks if we would ever get anymore customizing involving the races and he said that if it affected the head shape or the body in anyway it would be difficult because they would have to re adjust every single outfit and he said it would just be easier to create a new race instead of doing that.

If let's say 3 or 4 3D artists spend that whole year remodeling gear to the specifications of the 2 missing genders that could easily be done in 1 year. The reason it took them 2 years with female Viera/male Hrothgar is because their Full time 3D artists had to work on everything from new npc gear, current expansion gear, and future expansion gear.

But see where I'm going here, if a contractor's full time job is just remodling gear for 1 year...that's very doable. It's the perfect solution because it doesn't take away from the game's resources, it also allows them to release the 2 new races within Shadowbringer's lifetime, giving the game a shot in the arm at the 1 year mark which is usually when sub numbers go down. We're all grown ups here, we know this is just theory and guesses but the possibility is there if you followed through the reading. In my eyes I see 6.0 being free to work on its own, that's just how I see it. Yoshida could've easily just said "we'd need more time to bring the missing genders if they were to be added." But instead of that he said "we need to find a solution." A solution just implies something deeper and more immediate, to me anyways.

Any thoughts/ideas on what the solution is would be welcomed.

I though something similar. I think that Yoshida is a very smart and, like you said, sneaky guy, and I feel like this is a marketing trick to skyrocket male viera and female hrotgar fantasia sells. I think they either have the models, are close to finishing them, or at elast have quite a decent amount of them done, and they simply saved them so they could create a demand for this 2 models, meaning that they'd get a boost in sales

No, I meant things like void elves, maybe elezen with decent proportions, strong au ra women and femenine au ra men, fatqote, ronso, thinner roegadyn, supermodel humans, feol and dwarves come to mind

I think it’s optimistic to even think this relates to the missing genders, let alone further new races or variety in body types within races.

To me it seems to be a case of trying to have things ready if they want to add things, since it costs little to do that. I’d like for it to be a sign if greater things, of course, but given how limited the scope of this is, it doesn’t fundamentally change much.

Anyways, new customizations seem more likely than a third clan imo. Specially if the third clan is not really much different physically. In Mizzteq's interview Yoshi pretty much said fatqo'tes aren't happening unless they're a hypothetical new race altogether.

Oh ok, so I think that means that we aren't getting fatqo'tes sadly qwq. I think for thrid clan they could even swap body models (give viera bodies to elezens, fem roe model to fem au ra and things like that)

Well I might not have read every interview after Heavensward either but the only thing I know about Vieras was their concept art and that Yoshida found male Vieras to be weird, which could have been said before the artwork because those show both genders. And current ones talk more about getting both genders if we are getting them. (Which I hope we do)

I don't see how it should take too much work to add it later. I (wishfully obivously) think that this could mean they already planned male viera and lion queen, considering they did say that by the end of June they needed to have plans for their next expansion and the next 2 years in general ready

I keep thinking about that really pretty Khajiit lady from the Bethesda conference and her adorable, shining kitty eyes and I'm just like... WE COULD HAVE HAD IT AAAAAAALL

Strong yet elegant man rabbits and beastly beastie ladies that still have the adorable uguu eyes they seem to give like 3/4 of the lasses.

Aside, I just can't see male viera wearing pants when it comes to their racial gear. Loincloths, maybe? But pants? It just... looks weird in my head. I mean, part of the reason why might be because I keep imagining something that looks like drawstring sweatpants, but with all the DIY they do it seems a bit... ridiculous for them to be sitting up there in the trees and stitching together pairs of pants. Like... something attacks and they're like "NO MY INSEAM IS UNFINISHED!" Let this be the age of loincloth men. They are wild and free, and so are their nethers. Male hrothgar and mViera can find solidarity in this.

Got my new tablet pen today, decided to do a quick sketch in support of the thread. Within the scope of the forums at least, these statistics are not a "vocal minority" and it would be absurd to call male viera supporters as such. No matter what, make your voices heard

People are pushing their lifestyles onto the missing genders.

But why hijack a specific race for that? Why not advocate that all male races walk around in skimpy clothes? Female Miqo'te is skimpy, why not ask that they give male Miqo'te skimpy clothes as well?

It would be better if we let Viera be as "neutral" as the other races in terms of looks and design. Let them be neutral then you can add whatever your tastes are.

So the new trailer is up, I’m on my phone so I’m not sure how to add images but during the trailer we see a silhouette of a viera, you can’t see the whole face but it looks like they literally have a hrothgar face but with viera ears. It might just be a female but I just don’t understand why the face looked like that. It could be a mask but then again yoshi said we wouldn’t see them during launch so highly doubt it was a male.

I watched the trailer a few times and don't recall anything like that. Could you give the timestamp?

I counted 3 distinct Viera, all female of course. One Dancer in armor (she shows up twice, so she might be a companion of sorts), one about to be eaten by Sin Eaters (who shared the same hairstyle as the first so might actually BE the same), and one boyish Viera DRG (And a SAM one who may just be a stand-in for the PC). I didn't see the one with a Hroth face, so maybe once you can link the image?

Still, the 5.0 script, models and everything must've been done ages ago so I'm not even expecting mention on male Viera until 5.1. Female Hroth are more likely to be mentioned early given the Helion's Lore.
