Don't mind me just waltzing in this thread giving a completely wrong and uninformed opinion. Oh what's that, some servers have to pay more? Well I say that's completely and totally fair, you're just lazy because all your FC doesn't want to spend time making at least 500 mil for a fifth tier large house while I happily sit in my server that only has to pay 50 mil. Your server clearly has more money so it should be taxed accordingly, nevermind a lot of that money came from the Atomos exploit and RMT that went completely unpunished during 1.0 because a sub is a sub and every bit counted towards ARR right?
Pfft such entitlement, why do you even need a large house anyway a small house is fine who cares if it's just an inn room that can only fit 60 people max, a house is a house. Besides if a server has to pay more because they have more money then it's totally obvious every player on that server has at least 50 mil even after ARR slashed 1/10 off everyone's gil, because big numbers mean everyone has big numbers, my logic has no flaw, I dislike reading and being proved wrong.
Who loves Final Fantasy? I love Final Fantasy!
houses are too expensive , i will never see one from inside , which is kinda sad :/
It seems like some of you think these prices will never ever change unless we complain enough. It will go down, relax. I'm more interested in personal housing anyway. The way I see it is this is sort of the Housing Beta. They are trying out housing to see how servers handle it and so on. Once they have an idea of what to expect, they will unleash the hounds. I do feel terribly bad for those who didnt get a house out the gate so they could claim "First" though.
I respect your opinion but I slightly disagree. I am not paying for a beta. They have all of the information they need and have had time to properly prepare their servers.
For me, patience isn't the issue. When I pay my sub I expect bug fixes and continued content. Along the way I completely understand that there will be hiccups and bumps that delay things. Certain things though are NOT acceptable. If you have raw data and the main thing you use as a selling point for an upcoming feature is the housing is instanced and as more lots are bought more instances of those neighborhoods will be made to accommodate the needs of the player base and then turn around and tell me the servers can’t handle it I will voice my displeasure.
If the devs would have delayed the housing part until 2.2 just because of the servers I would have understood, annoyed as well, but understood they needed more time. Instead we have excuses of RMT, not wanting all the plots to be taken up, and server capacity issues. When they were having trouble with the instance servers they made adjustments. I’m noticing a trend with SE and their servers… hmm… moving on.
Launches are always terrible, always. The game is new, shiny, and a ton of people are trying to log in to play, or buy the game, or download the game if they forgot to do it the night before, or patch, and its understandable why launch week is crazy because there are so many things going on. Yoshi also admitted that even with the presale numbers, early access, and beta numbers he decided to be more on the conservative side with server capacity on launch.
I’m lazy so I’m just going to leave this here.
I understand how you feel, "i'm paying therefore I should have access." remember though that they started ARR off in the red, very far in the red and with the previous failure they didnt initially expect things to take off like they did as was evidenced with their launch. They had planned out their patches and content delivery around the numbers and thought that it would take a while to gain subscribers. They are having to make adjustments as they go now. If having restricted housing like it is now is what they need to do to make sure we dont have a repeat of the launch month, then I'm willing to be patient.
Maybe patience isnt something we all have in spades, we are living in the twitter generation after all. Where everything should be instant, accessible, and in short easy to digest bursts.
EDIT:
Also there are still features and systems we dont yet have in the game, like the golden saucer, chocobo raising, personal airships, etc. We are paying for the full game right? Maybe they should have just left the game shut down until they could have generated enough content and features to make this look and feel like a game that has been polished for 10 years?
*eye roll*
Seriously? Patience would be called for if we were wanting a feature that has been promised for 'future development.' Patience in this situation is not called for. This is not a 'coming feature' that we're seeing sneak peeks of, this is a CORE element of patch 2.1. Companies that have saved gil since launch have already been patient and have already been saving gil in expectation of this CORE element of the patch. To be told after the official release of the content, that you'll have to be patient and wait longer because some other players have a crap-ton of gil is unreasonable.
