I don't think they would copy over the exact lore from the previous versions, so I'm sure they could make something work within the XIVX realm. As far as skin tones, I could see them implementing the two clans with slightly different palettes, similar to how it is Miqo / Au Ra, Roeg, etc.

Relatively speaking it seems that roes are actually giants. I did my best using listed FFXIV heights and height for Penelo in FFXII Scenario Ultimania and then traced it out on an old screenshot I found on google. Penelo's pixel height divided by her listed height, then that times roes listed height. I could be off a few pixels but it correlates to an FFXIV height comparison.

So roe and elezen is still much taller than viera.


I hope they would also make a /heels option for shoes like /visor that adds height to any character but viera gets 2 or 3 times as much increase.

The thing with robots is that they can look from cute, goofy to pure evil, but knowing SE they will go for the cute maid robot type of character custom customization for the females and dull looking one for males. Since we have already seen Viera artwork (both genders on the Ivalice inspired and the cute teen version) we have an idea of how it willl look ingame.

I would love to see full beastman, robots, undead etc for the other expansions, but for 5.0, I think its time SE respects the wishes of their playerbase and add this fan favourite race.

Another problem is how to design a gear sets for them, it's x100 times worse, than Viera's case.

It's fiction, not RL, they can come up with whatever they want for whatever race they want to bring in. Looks wise they could make'em look like anything as well and "gear design being a pain" won't be anymore of an issue than it is currently for any race. If it's worse, that's on SE for making it that way to satisfy their own masochistic tendencies.
