It really isn't up to you to determine how rare a piece of gear is for players. Its up to the Developer. Yes there should be some gear thats rare. But the low level generic stuff. (Because lets face it this game was designed to push to 99 as soon as possible in levels) This stuff should be easy peasie to get.
There are other ways to introduce rare items, many ideas have been named.
You can never cater to both casual and hard-core gamers for casuals will always cry about not having what endgamers have.
Not cater to both casual and hardcore.
Cater to those wanting HNMs and those wanting instanced.

This whole thread is about 24h nm, you guys try to stamp everyone who is against the 24 rate as a casual gamer.
I am not a casual gamer but i DO NOT want 24h NM for reasons stated earlier.
Not being able to camp a NM that pops only once a day is simply technically not possible for many people and has nothing to do with dedication.
Just make all NM and HNM pop item :) you buy it from a NPC for 1gil that would make everyone happy oh and if you get the HQ version item you have a 100% drop rate and only cost 2gil
All joking a side add nm 24hours and BCNM or something to get the same item. this is what FFXI did remember? Black belt? and many other NM you could get the item easy from BCNM,.
Not at all, unless i have to set alarm to get up and unless there are those who exploit it using bots.
People live in different time zones.
If i really need something, i could also make a all nighter but do i want to? nope
I see such things a s a bad design, its outdated, periode.
There are many fun and challenging ways to introduce rare items than standing around for 3 hours.

Why do you have to camp what we camp, im really asking, just because something is there doesnt mean you have to try, just stay with the casual game content, still no one is saying HNM's should be the only way to get the best gear in the game, but it should be a way to get some of it just like in 11.
Gear from sky/sea/nyzul/ein/dyna/salvage/znm's/scnm's til abyssea in the very end had some of the best gear in the game for there specific jobs/slots.
Please explain why 21-24hr HNM's in the game means you get 0 gear? you just wont get those absolute best for very specific slots on certain jobs, boohoo. do the rest of the events and cry less.

on topic , like i said before , HNM mechanics would go completely into the other direction from recent updates so is very unlikely to happen , whatever some want it or not.
So like, lets get over it and move on . people play differently is okay to like to camp NMs (personally i never liked it even when i did it to much) and so is ok to not want to do it.

Heres an idea me and my ls just had for HNM's.
Make all non-HNM gear just be smooth and kinda meh but the exact same stats as HNM gear.
While HNM gear has cool looking spikes and stuff.
Ill be wearing spikes, you will look boring, problem solved, you have the best gear in game but you still fail, the world is well.

Don't you guys know they could easy just make HNM be 24-3days pop and allow you get the same item by doing BCNM type system? but no you guys are to in a hurry to bitch about 24+hours nm pop to even think about that.
FFXI did it that how i got one of my black belt item the rest was HNM -.- and i told myself i wont ever do HNM again to much work but i still want to see them in the game.
There are plenty of ways to add rare great pieces of armor without having people waste 24hrs of life and fight against bots just to get. Full parties will get the best gear from dungeons and fighting NMs. Light parties will will get the good but not great pieces.
This game will not get 24hr HNMs just appeal to a small base that have a lot of time on their hands. Games can become challenging and harder without setting major time sinks.
I'm hoping battle positions play a bigger part in tactics.
hardcore =/= casual and it will always be that way. However, wanting major time sinks doesn't even make you hardcore. You're just someone that has major time on his/her hands.

Thats been stated but from the HNM people, ff11 had ein for HNM gear for the most part, casuals will never be happy.
Were not asking for HNM's right now, 75+ will do.
