Stalking and Harassment, GM/Square Enix Refusal to act

Like I said, you underestimate it, irrespective of whether you think a stalker will or will not move on... There are just as many stalkers that will persist and will continue to harass regardless of whether you ignore them... Than what there are stalkers that will just move on... You are relying squarely on the classic "If you ignore your bully, they will go away", and you are expecting that everyone conforms to this

We really shouldn't be offloading the entire issue onto the player base, but rather to a point this also needs to be with the GMs and moderation team... Otherwise the only thing that it entertains for the person doing it is... "Well this behavior is OK", and at that point it's a massive detriment to said person, and the people they are victimizing.

There are plenty of sick people that don't even thrive on it... Sure some will, but there are plenty that won't, and they will do it simply because they don't know any better, and that is why rules exist, and why rules should be enforced. Some thrive on reaction.. Some thrive on obsession or control, and under these pretenses, it gets a lot more difficult to deal with it.

Bubert is putting the accountability back in your hands, and you are tossing that agency away because you are "Offloading" your mental health back to a company.

I don't deal with these problems because my "high density" zone discourages anyone trying to "cutsy" or "overly friendly" their way into my circle, and they realize they aren't getting anywhere and move on. Im not interested in playing the script, so they look for someone who will.

You didn't answer my question. Are your hands tied or not? Do you have anything in your capacity to do anything to protect your experience or are you without options?

No , you can't ban them from the game , but I starve them out of the attention they seek. They seek people to give them a reaction, don't react and they'll slink off, but you have to be aware of who you talk to. Dont not engage with anyone exhibiting red flags

I dont trade in social credit, and I don't give people the social validation they come seeking. So I tend to get left alone. The bar is high enough to filter out most players. And the filter prevents weirdos from finding an easy foothold

I find it odd that good amount of people overfocus on 'erp/social/venue'-setting when the psychotic stalkers tend to not operate in the same mindframe as any sane person would do - they will target people for reasons that's simply incomprehensible to good majority of us. Standing on their limsan 'afk spot' for too long? Undercutting on MB? Killing somebody or 'play cowardly smartly' in PvP? Vote kicking somebody off FL because they're 'leeching' or being antagonistic? Or god forbid writing a feedback that somebody abhors in official forums?

It's also rich for some to think that these perpetrator only set their sight on one target at a time. They typically warp the space -around- where their target occupies. Did they blocked them? Cool, let's bother the people around said target. Let's get others to talk about you (general). Let's manipulate.. so on so on, etc.

Are you being told it needs to be tolerated? You are being asked, what are you doing to protect your own experience as well? Where is your emotional resilience?

If it gets on my nerves , i'm cutting it out, any red flags , it's getting cut out. If they don't come correct, im ridding of you.

My emotional wellbeing is in nobody's hands here. But my own. I can't change a player but I can change how I approach a problem.

No one deserves to be harassed by some loser who seeks out of parasocial relations, vut you gotta keep your eyes open for those people too. It's half and half, the game can give you the tools to block these people.But it is also up to you to help yourself as well. Rather than only rely on the games , tools to do it for you. That's where the emotional resilience comes in.

What i'm saying is , if the gyms aren't acting , what can you do to protect your own experience? The agency is now in your hands. And you do have agency. We all do.

They only have the power you give to them, take it back.
