If they don't have much to show, then I would start to seriously worry about 2.0.... >.>; I don't want to be negative, but I just don't think that's the reason why, it should not be at this stage of the game if 2.0 is going to be a solid release with whole new content for us to go through.
Also let's not start false rumors by making these assumptions that someone might pass on to another less in the know site or something... Yoshi simply said they decided on a new and hopefully 'better' approach to the marketing. Didn't say anything about not having the material, they just want to provide the right impact. Just hope they are right in the end.
edit: I will admit that changes to the roadmap gave me a reason to worry somewhat. :S Going to look up what has been changed.
edit2: Nothing to worry about. Marketing campaign happening in August.
Sadly you are probably right. People always follow the negative advice without even trying something. However, there may be a few that will try it despite what they hear and find that its quite enjoyable.
As far as no trailer....I can honestly say if they had released it I would have been excited....but then after I saw it 1000x I would still be left wondering what in game would be like. So for me Im gonna wait and see and take the "adult" as in I can buy them all approach instead of the popular "can only play only one mmo" attitude. Fortunately my real life inv isnt as limited as my retainers lol.
I think they do have quite a bit to show, having said that, Japanese culture will take pride in whatever they create and if no one has yet to see it outside of Japan then they are not about to let another culture see it before them. I think they will have plenty to show when it comes time for Tokyou game show, just wait and see.
