If it's underwhelming, doesn't that just mean it fits the designs of all the rest of SCH's Damage abilities?
Oof, bad idea, fun as it would be. I don't think SCH should be stepping on Assize's toes at all.

Honestly, not really. Fey Blessing still has a 1m CD, and fairy gauge was never really the limiting factor there.
Further, Fey Union is about the same as it's always been.
The REAL benefits to this are (1) the dump to not waste Aetherflow in 'feast' situations and (2) the extra MP restored. (Yes, the 150 potency attack can basically be ignored too.)
Is it a perfect fix? Not at all.
However, it's a step in the right direction, so while I'm not as thrilled as I would be if they gave us back more of our abilities or as happy as I would be if they also gave us back the AF CD reduction trait....I'm appeased.
White Mage doesn't need anything else because it's in a good spot. I swear some people are just never happy with what they get and want to be able to do EVERYTHING with one job while utterly failing to understand that different classes will have different ways to play.
I just wish we had more versatility in sch for aoe heals. Especial since sch shields dont stack and if your ever in a party with 2 sch and a lot of aoe heavy mechanics. 1 slip up means death where as whm can pop lighter than air and make up for mistakes with on demand gcd aoe heals.
Played AST in Ravel since I'm 76.
All I can say is, the pressure of getting all the cards and seals going
and the set up for Divination has gone down like 95%.
I don't fish for seals too much tbh but I try to get 2/3.
Healing never felt too bad for me to begin with but more potency is always nice.
CU needs to be looked into or it's worthless, I just leave on the hotbar because it's better than nothing.
SD is good. My biggest issue was the Divination set up.
But, AST is still very boring to me so back to SCH for the MSQ lol.
I really wish AST had these potencies initially in 5.0. I had to work so much harder than WHM or SCH for big pulls in the first three dungeons. I feel Sleeve Draw is improved as well, but will have to get dirty with it. Divination is better. Doesn't make it awesome though. Just better.
Energy Drain: THANK YOU!!!
I love that post, they took AST and gave it a new identity as the Dark Arts dispenser, might as well use the seals system for the 4th healer because that is not the AST we fell in love with.

I kinda wish that Energy Drain was renamed something else like Osmosis to help make it different from the Arcanist/Summoner ability. It just doesn't make sense that SCH "forgets" how to use it when we get our job stone and remembers it at 45. A name change and it would have at least been like a new ability for SCH only. I love having the skill back in any form and just being lore picky now.
I still don't like the fairy being tied to our actions...not being able to cast something myself and also queue a fairy skill at the same doesn't feel good. Also the Fairy auto healing the tank when they start a pull in a dungeon and causing me to get aggro is kinda bogus.
I hate that Selene is dead for the most part. Why not have them cycle like a sunrise and sunset and give different buffs as they are used. I hate the fairy just being skinned now with Eos/Selene.
Your hotbar icons for abilities like Whispering Dawn don't tell you what they actually do in the tooltip…you have to look into the actions tab and scroll down. Not very intuitive.
Seraphic Veil is a powered up Embrace when Seraph is summoned, but all the other abilities are just copies of each other. Angel's Whisper is the exact same as Whispering Dawn except with a fancier icon. Same for Seraphic Illumination and Fey Illumination.
Then there is no connection with Consolation and Fey Blessing which doesn't make sense as Consolation is basically a powered up Fey Blessing except it doesn't use the gauge only charges. You also can't use Fey Blessing when Seraph is out anyway...
Just a lot of wonky stuff with the fairy spells.
