I'm actually digging the idea of a "Beastmaster" type of role, maybe not call it that per say, but has animal instincts and abilities that reference said beasts. Rather than actually has a beast summon, it would be similar to the ninja's ability (no idea what its called) where the player jumps on a frog, the beast master (or whatever it would be called) would temporarily transform into said beast, say a lion and preform a slashing ability.
There would be different "beast forms" or stances that the tank could take, for example;
Turtle transformation/stance or for a defensive buff/parry/absorbtion, (there would obviously be other GCD's for damage mitigation)
Lion transformation/stance for a slashing debuff/dot/high potency hit,
Cactar transformation/stance which could add multiple debuffs
Each rotation the tank would use a simple rotation, like 1 2 3 which would increase enmity, potency, mp regn or whatever, but each ability would have a separate effect when under a specific transformation. Each cool down of the transformation/stances would be on a 10 second or so cool down and as a finisher type move, similar to the Samurai you would preform a split second transform into a different beast, which could preform a version of all 3 stances combined, but on a longer cool down.
You could also have a finisher for each transformation/stance too, which again, similar to other jobs would preform a higher potency version of said stance rather than just combining all 3 stances at once.
So a rotation could go something like.
1 2 3
1 2 3 (4 5 6 - for whatever transformation/stance)
1 2 3 (3 with added effects)
1 2 3 7 (finisher)
I'm also feeling for armour it could be cloth based rather than full metal suits and weapons should be 2 handed.
Just an idea.
