I completely agree with this. It's my main concern too, and I think people need to be speaking out more against this sort of treatment, but unfortunately we seem to be lumped in with the ones who are making a big deal out of the outfit and dismissed entirely. I feel like I'm sitting here watching people be okay with it as long as the maid outfit doesn't turn into another lightning hair situation. :/

I wasn't "completely misusing the word." He is being hypocritical. "Behaving in a way that suggests one has higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case." He is insulting other players for wanting an item that he described as "virtual." So the rest of the game isn't virtual? He's never got upset over the game either right? Using the word "virual" was the entire reason he was being a hypocrite. Say what you will, I stand by what I'm saying.

Putting that aside, it's still not okay to insult other players just because said item is "virtual."

If you have played enough games and perhaps bought enough Japanese games you would know that this has been a underlying problem for a long time and is by no means ethical. When you create "exclusive" events you show the other half that they are different, that they are the priority when it comes to certain things.Pokemon games only have japan exclusive pokemon, the recent bravely default second Collector's edition did not come with AR codes & Agnes figurine, the old bravely default had costumes only the japanese has.

Japan economy is pretty bad now due to the financial crisis despite the yen currency being strong & most MMOs and Japanese console companies are far behind mobile gaming companies, that is why lately you see that even SE have to enter the mobile gaming industry.Look at how many games they have integrated into mobile device. International sales contributes greatly to their revenue so I don't see why we should get anything lesser.

Times have changed and the most market relies on the international markets more than it has before. And if you're thinking " oh this guy just probably wants the items really badly", no I don't even have the slightest interest in them but if this happened once it can happen again (especially since it was successful), its just that all these "japan-exclusive" events are obnoxious. I'm not asking to be treated like a VIP but japan exclusive event makes me feel like I'm a 2nd class player. I'm from singapore and there are things I do not mind, I pay 80$ for each ff14 OST ,70$ for each plushie even 360USD(485SGD) for FF15 CE because it doesn't ship outside of NA. I understand that is the price I pay for playing an international game.

Yoshi did something I rarely see from a SE game developer, which is to communication with the players as a whole and it has proven to be successful. The same goes for FF15, Tabata has been communicating with the players because there is an issue with scalpers, an absurd demand for it but too little supply.
