Indomitability, Lustrate and Sacred Soil are not free. They cost MP as many as you would gain by using that Aetherflow stack for Energy Drain.

Have you ever played an AST? If you are spamming Aspected Benefic in Nocturnal Stance your MP will drastically decrease quick.

I don't understand why Lustrate costing an Aetherflow stack should mean it's not good. It's instant cast, yes, but's in gcd. Lustrate not. You can adlo+lustrate at the same time to cover an emergency situation. You have af stack, and you should use them if needed. You replace lustrates/ss/indom with energy only when heals are not really needed and a good scholar knows when he need to have stacks up. Over the fights af stack are a lot and a very reliable resource that astros doesn't have.
Astro's heals are slightly better because of this: scholar can count on fairy and aetherflow. And better mp management means you can also count on more heals.
Astro has only raw power now, and he needs it.

No but you do have a lot more control over your mana.
As ast our mana regen falls into LA which is a long cd or praying to the gods that ewer comes at a right time or reserve it in a spread.
