Troll comes to mind :D Anyway I look forward to mod acknowledgement on the subject and a answer ^^ Come on Yoshi-P!
I hope they leave the races as is or make the male cat actually manly not the emo cat from XI,
wow, this thread is still going strong ... after 53 pages someone at SE has to have seen this by now.
Added Kallera and Duelle to the list on page 50. :3 Don't even know why I'm keeping track. XD
I guess, even though I heard about people wanting this back in XI (and I was one of them..) it was kind of a rare thing for me to run into someone who said they also wanted the other genders added. Though at that point I think most people had given up on asking SE. I didn't think there were so many of us. :x
I'm surprised at our numbers I guess. And this is just here on the forum.. there must be many other people out there who want it but haven't posted. Seeing the Community Rep post in character creation options makes me wonder if we're next.
Perhaps we are just being left until more important things are being answered.
I'd hope thats the case Nabiri
So do I, I'd be happy with a message from a community rep. it would definitely be a step closer to a answer.
31 likes on the first post so far in less then a week since the feature was implemented. Though, I can't tell if thats good or bad :P
Totally bumping and maybe adding a semi-constructive post. Let's see....:
I am against gender restrictions.
I am in favor of having all race/gender combos.
Am I doing it right?
I suppose I don't really care.
If you asked me this in FFXI, I would say hell no. They have reasons for it in the Lore in FFXI, so I would be against adding them (and it would make the one NPC from the Wings of the Goddess expansion much less cool)
I'm not sure if the Lore is the same in FFXIV. I haven't found anything personally, but I haven't really looked either. If the Lore is the same ("manthra" are extremely rare and kept caged back home, and Roegadyn are asexual), then I would be against it. If they don't plan on keeping that lore, however, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
Kaedan the first post does explain the lore already mentioned in game and on the FFXIV site itself.
Male Miqote - Prolific but solitary and anti-social they prefer to work on their own rather then in groups (Similar to male lions.)
Female Roegadyn - Some are Prominent members of society and high in political and Financial circles. Also known to be quiet beautiful. Have higher business sense then the males seem to have.
Female Hyur Highlander - Most chose to stay near/around Ala Mihgo to help try and salvage and rebuild it while the males went out looking for help from the rest of Eorzea.
Ahh, sorry 'bout that. The first post was kinda a wall of text, so I didn't click on all the links.
By the sounds of the lore, it seems they are purposefully leaving it open to add them at a later date. I wouldn't have a problem with them adding it, but I don't want them to add them just because people whined about it. If they planned to not have them for the purpose of later expansions (like the NPC in Wings of the Goddess), then I would be against it. I guess I just side with SE on this one. If they're ok with releasing them, then yay. If they feel they're being "forced" into releasing them, then I'm against it.
Greetings everyone!
We can definitely see the enthusiasm being shown in this topic, and it's not something we're overlooking! We are currently discussing with the development team now and will report back once we receive a response.
Which is why I said that it seems as if they worded the lore in such a way to suggest that they might be added later, so I agree on that point.
But, regardless, I'm going to support SE on this one. If they have reasons for not wanting to release them, then I don't think they should be forced to release them. That doesn't appear to be the case, but I would want SE to remain true their purpose if it was.
I think it would be cool if they made male miqote look something like X-men's wolverine^^
Glad to hear something for our biggest topic on this forum.
Since the character features topic had a response with Yoshi-P considering "changing your character's existing appearance", there could be the possibly of an addition to the missing race's genders with an option of race changing later far down the road. (I'm reading in between the lines on this)
I don't like the idea >.> and i don't need more genders. SE don't listen to them please =/
"I" is the reason your argument fails.
If you do not need them doesn't mean they shouldn't be implemented.
Thats like telling car makers "I don't use Air Conditioning so you don't need to install it on all cars."
Or telling Computer manufacturers. "I don't use USB, I only use PS/2 Ports so you can just not install them on all computers."
I'd like a male migote ;P only cuz it would remind me of FFIX's Zidane XD Would be cool if we could hide the ears *dreams*
We are not asking for them to be implemented immediately.
Right now we are just asking for an answer on if they are going to be implemented at all.
Then a possible time frame. If they get implemented at all I don't expect them to show up until the First Expansion or PS3 Release which could still be a year off.
If you'd read Cairdeas's first post, you would have known that this thread is all about just GETTING A DEFINITE ANSWER. Not asking for it to be implemented, asking if it is going to be implemented at all.
I'm freaking serious you guys just find anything to troll/whine/complain about. Yet you fail to give reasonable and constructive criticism about how an idea will not work.
Well THIS is something I wasn't expecting. Thanks for the assist as usual, Bayohne and community team.
Well excellent work people.
Who knows if they'll actually do something about it in the future, but at least they're brutally aware now. :P
And if he's actually an android, does he dream of electric sheep?
I wonder if they'll be all like "we're thinking of adding an aquatic race." At the discussion table?
I've always loved the animal-like races like the Bangaa and Nu Mou. :( I think the Gria would be too popular a choice if there were a counterpart. x-x
