In the stock market this would be the equivalent of a 10 to 1 reverse stock split. Every 10 shares turn into 1 so the amount of actual shares that you hold drops but the price per share rises in order to maintain the overall value of it.
Personally I would not hold securities through a reverse split (like what happened with THQ in July) but that's another conversation entirely.
