Won't be a reply at this point. Just like the relic feedback thread when the atma first came out, that had over 100 pages and not a single dev post. They would rather sit in the corner with their fingers in their ears going "LALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU!!!" instead of addressing an issue. Isn't the first time they have done it and it won't be the last.
Of course, they have already seen this thread and went into this thread as well most likely. They don't care as long as they get the money. Whenever they say they do things for the players lets be honest most of the time its just PR talk. Most just want to find the most effective way of getting money. Just shows what kinda company SE is they they won't at least come out and say it :P
Funny enough if SE even came here and said they did it so they could make a profit and such i will be annoyed, but at least they told us why the price is like that. Leaving everyone in the dark is just bad.
Indeed, it'll be a marketing/finance department call.
However that doesn't stop the community team from approaching the back offices for a statement on this matter!
Mind you it's pretty safe to assume that the entire community team are under a strict gag order regarding this. Pretty pathetic if you ask me although I'd dearly love to be proved wrong.

This issue is still alive, it won't just go to sleep.
Well, I received an email back from the UK European Consumer Centre, and they directed me to a subdivision of the Citizens Advice Bureau. I've contacted them now about this issue, let's see what they say... For anyone interested, the contact form can be found here:
https://ssl.datamotion.com/form.aspx...lare.fromforms
I'm refusing to give up on this.
I dont see why Citizens Advice would help? They technically can charge watever they want as we dont have to buy it :/ infact their 'advice' would probably be just that - dont buy it.
Theres got to be another way, like a senior customer service rep or contact details for marketing?
Citizens Advice will advise..... that SE are entitled to refuse to sell you to, for any reason they want, or for no reason. SE are refusing to sell to you in €, which is their right (no one can force SE to sell their product). Either that or I worded my email to them incorrectly.
Anyone tried Yoshi's twitter account? "Why are you charging us 23,282 Yen, and 15,984 in Japan? 15,582 in US and 17,049 in EU?"
The interesting thing is:
SE could have closed the thread, but they didn't. On purpose.
They watch closely and wait.
Ergo, this means if this thread gets 50k hits and 600 answers,
they will adjust the price.
I won't be at that price, but I'm sure they are going to sell out on the UK site regardless, as it's almost certainly drawing on the same stock pool as the EU site.
So voting with wallets here isn't even going to make a difference, the UK sales to them are just free extra profit gravy. I feel like any company that would pull this kind of pricing stunt isn't going to move quick, if moving slow can make the problem go away. Plus changing the price now would affect any UK pre-orders they might have already had as it's in the T&Cs that they reduce the price they actually charge if it goes down before the shipping date.
Don't forget, they did it THIS time, so...... they will do it next time too. 4.0? Yep, rip off again by SE.
Slightly off topic, but I'm enjoying my 36.85GBP copy of Type-0 HD from amazon.co.uk, as opposed to the 54.99GBP SE EU store one. Unless I'm missing something, they both appear to be the same. (both have the FFXV demo)
Same here, I rarely buy anything from SE store because i know Amazon has it cheaper lol
The physical CE is not available in the EU anywhere other than the SE store, it's the only place you can purchase it, unlike in the US, Japan, Australia.........
The Box edition of Heavens ward in New Zealand/Australia is going to cost 379.99 dollars.
Which amounts to 266 Euro or 291 US dollars.
The only thing I like about SE is literally this game, and the only reason it's good is because of Yoshida. They are a greedy corporation who only cares about making that cashswagmoneyflow*. I hope that the Final Fantasy IP is eventually bought off from Square. They just treat it like their own personal cow, milking the living crap out of it to get every penny that they can.
*A type of currency that is meant to be converted into double the amount that it is actually worth.
Yeah, I literally cant afford the Box edition now. I brought the 1.0 Box edition for around 140 new Zealand dollars which was very reasonable, but this is really really stupid. I don't think I'll bother playing any further.
Physical CE is not available in the AU store. We can only buy through an independent retailer. So like those in the UK we only have one option, and that is to not only pay the jacked up price, but to also pay the independent retailers mark up as well making it approximately £200/€270/$300.
Actually, CAB informed the Trading Standards of SE's actions... who are now looking into the matter.
Yep, here is an excerpt of the email;
Quote:
What we’ll do
We will inform Trading Standards of the trader's activities in this situation. Trading Standards can take into consideration such complaints when prioritizing their activities.
If you want to discuss this further please call us on 03454 04 05 06 or reply to this email.

^^ I have my UK CE preordered, but being as they're not taking payment until June, I'm hoping Trading Standards will pull them up and make them a) reduce the price or b) let us order in Euros to the UK before then.
More than likely I'll just have a very expensive box though :/
Well done! Seems the AU are getting an even worse deal than the UK too, makes me angry how they don't see certain countries as important. They wouldn't dare do this to Japan or the USA.
For those that are saying people would buy it anyway, I haven't bought it for what it's worth (probably not much).
without defend SE, just a reminder, for country like New zealand and such the fact to import the box is extremely costly. however, i faill to understand why they can't offer a better price. about the UK situation something feel soo much wrong.
anyway, all i can say is.... get the digitial version you will avoid this sort of trouble. it's sad in a way, but that the only way to pay such horrible price.
There is no game worth that price. The little Dragon figure is laughable.
Thing so damn tiny my Barbie dolls are bigger than that crap.
Damn thing better be made of Gold for it to be this INSANELY priced...
:p If it's too expensive, then don't buy it. I love XIV to bits. I've probably clocked over 2000 hours on it, but I wont be getting the expansion. Still got FCoB to clear still anwyay.
im not buying the CE, it comes with nothing special, the only thing from it im even slightly interested in is the griffon and the art book, Griffin will probably be a cash shop item eventually, or prolly even diff ones will be in there, and the Art book ill buy off Ebay for a little bit more then it's worth, in the end, save myself some money on stuff i really dont want/need.
I don't want to open another thread regarding content, but can someone tell me if the digital version is available for preorder? If it is can someone pass me the link please. Thanks!
