The Gil Sellers are jumping with glee
The only thing I can think of is they made it easier to make gil in 2.1. In which case depending on how much gil you can earn will determine if the price is "truly" fair or just simply outrageous. I reserve judgement till 2.1 ( but my opinion will probably stay the same on it!.)
ok im a non legacy player in a pretty small FC, we will most likely not be able to afford even the smallest plot at release. however, im not really all that surprised or saddened by the prices. lets face it, 2.0 has been out for like 3 months, why are you guys in such a rush to have the biggest house and all the furnishings right from the start? this is obviously just a move by SE to suck some of the gil out of the system. i know my server(midgard) could really use it because our economy is in shambles right now. people have way too much gil and nothing to spend it on, and this is a non legacy server, i cant even imagine what the MB must look like on one of those. people just need to relax, enjoy some of other content that is being added and wait for the prices to stabalize. and really, for people to leave over this would just be silly, if housing is the only thing you were going to find enjoyable then i doubt there is anything SE could do to help you anyways
This is probably so that not many can buy a plot of land and house. Their servers for that might start crashing and watching the server economy is just an excuse lul
First, I fixed your grammar.
Second, if you read the patch notes, you will see that the lowest housing prices will drop is to 50%.
On Durandal, that means a small house will be only 20 million. At the rate my fc has been saving gil, we can look forward to a tiny shed in the very reasonable time of 5 years.
Everyone in opposition of the housing prices, go to: JP Forum and 'Like' the OP.
The more centralized the opposition to the ridiculous pricing scheme, the better chance we will be heard!
Fatigue didn't let you play the job you wanted.
Yoshi lock-outs don't let you play the game at all.
First, your a grammar addict and I am not writing an essay so I can afford mistakes.
Secondly, I know that housing will be dropped 50%... in 3 months (Edited). Do FC really want to wait that long to afford housing? Also half of 625 mil is 312.5 mil. That is still a lot of money. I also said SE will most likely adjust the price for the lots manually ( not involved with the devalue system). I can see the prices going down below the target half price mark in time.
3 months, not 1.5 months.
We're all here hoping that our voices will be heard and then maybe you'll be right about the 1.5 months.
What is housing good for anyway that would warrant an FC to throw so much gil away? Every patch there seems to be some nerf bat being swung or being stuck our you know whats. Shame SE.
My original FC fell apart with in a week after hearing the rumor that a medium sized lot would be 800k. The fall apart would have happened in a hour if we had survived to see the live letter... No FC of 10 or less can afford these prices...
It's more of an annoyance to gil sellers actually for the price to be so high it's on the radar. Random person shows up and gives a fc the kind of money needed for a plot then has no contact with them again ever? Yea going to get SE hunting through logs. I can't wait for the first stories of 'innocent' players being banned and plots taken away to show up.
Still working on how it's betraying paying clients unless you mean gil buyers...
bumping for great justice! We will not be denied!
haha...the housing areas will all be empty until patch 2.2
I think the smaller housing is overpriced. It would be nice if there were a lot of entry level plots for people so most FCs, casual or otherwise would have access to it without too much grinding.
However, I think the high end plots are spot on. They are massive investments that exist for prestige and prestige alone. They're meant to be ridiculous goals to work towards for the 1% of the 1% that have to have the best and biggest houses.
It's content im paying them to make. You bet your ass I better get access to it.
You wanna loot lock coil/crystal tower to one piece every 4 months? Whatever, i still get to see the content you were paid to develop.
You wanna make chocobo leveling retardly grindy? Whatever, i still get to at least get a chocobo to play with.
You wanna make housing out of reach of most of your players? Fuck that. Can't see content i'm paying you to make. THIS IS THE ISSUE.
You wanna do it right? Everyone gets to get a little house cheap, upgrading to massive mansions involves grinding company points/items/some gil for upgrades. Everyone sees the content, elitist grinders get to be elitest.
This is what i expect when i pay a sub.
Your subscription fee pays for about 1 tester working 1 hour to test the content that gets made. As such, not every piece of content and every line of code is going to be explicitly for your benefit.
Some things you need to compete with others to get them. You can't just grind it out. You want to buy a big mansion? You pony up the cash before all the plots are taken. You wait until the prices come down or SE "sees the light" and slashes housing prices, then those plots might be gone and you can't have them. It's what makes those items special, desirable and exclusive. If anybody can get them then it removes the urgency to claim it and the prestige of having it. Which is sort of the point of the massive "HEY LOOK AT ME" housing plots. If you want that, go get it. If you don't want all the hassle that goes with it, then don't and get something smaller.
As long as it doesn't grant any real benefit to PvE, PvP or crafting why exactly do you care?
It's a feature my sub money is helping to put in game. That's why we care. A rather LARGE feature at that, that has been previewed, pre-previewed, and hyped up for months on end. I want the content i'm helping to make.
I like how you say you don't need to grind it out, when the only way to purchase these houses is to do just that. "Oh , sell stuff on the market" Is always your ignorant answers on these forums, when the majority of you don't get that doing that is not 'grinding out money' it's taking someone elses money. You can be sure the market economies are going to plummet with these prices. So you are left to grind out dungeons for 3k a run, until, at the very least, you get 8 million gil to put down on a house thats no bigger than your FREE inn room. No. There's just all sorts of wrong here.
Be content with it all you want, we're not.
i guess if you take a break from the game you screwed. its not clear if they mean in general or the owner.Quote:
Relinquishing Land
In order to relinquish a plot of land, you must first remove the estate hall and all furnishings. Once the plot is completely vacant, it can be relinquished from the Housing menu. Only free company members with the requisite authorization can perform this action.
* Gil will not be refunded upon relinquishing a plot of land.
* From patch 2.2 onward, a free company will automatically relinquish its land if its estate is unused for a prolonged period of time.
Hey Spaz, how about you look up like 7 posts?
I said the 8 mil for the lower end stuff is too much and should be reduced because it's much too high for your average casual FC (lowest starting price on Ultros). Applies to all the low-mid tier housing.
625 mil for the biggest plot on the most prime real estate on the legacy servers with the most outstanding gil floating around is legit because the price for that kind of thing is supposed to be absurd.
Almost everybody pay the same sub cost. Why players are being punished for rmt and gil buyers. Mind you alot if them are not caught yet. How I know the rmt logs shows ppl still buying everyday.
Even if you were to completely ignore RMT and gil buyers, Legacy worlds are going to have a lot more gil floating around since they've got all the money left over from 1.0 that exists in addition to all the new money that's been generated by monster kills, leves, quests, etc. Beyond that, more active worlds are going to have more money due to a larger and more active server pop generating new $$ every day. This is going to increase the cost of goods you can sell to other players since the money supply is higher (inflation). Everybody tends to end up with more as a result if they put any real effort into gil collection whatsoever.
Whether 625 mil is a reasonable goal for the upper crust of those worlds, I couldn't tell you. But whatever the amount is, it should be something your average player couldn't even imagine, since it's supposed to be an effort for even the 1% to put together.
3rd & 5th points 100% agree. Imo, they did it backwards. Price land reasonably, so many can buy & we can begin gathering mats & building our guildhall where every member can contribute. That diversity lies in the members themselves. They can see a common goal & progress. SE missed the mark with this one.
Your 6th point has been slightly covered here & there, though still vague.
#1 Can't sell land
#2 Must remove everything, including tearing down house
#3 Don't forget, many furnishings & items placed might be lost trying to retrieve
#4 The items successfully retrieved can not be sold
TLDR: I too thought maybe we could start very small & later transition, but honestly for what? No point in burning ourselves twice. Losses would far out-weigh profitability. :(
land costs 325mil (my server)
House costs 9k-60k
Furniture costs 1k-15k
Something is wrong here... definitely wrong...
*edit I could be wrong on the house cost - http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/b9dad83aabb/ it's selling price so could be price you sell back to NPC
First subs cover much more than that dearie.
Second It is understandable it's not "explicitly for your benefit" BUT should be reasonable & attainable to all, which it's not, at this point. THIS IS ONLY A LOT! Get it? Be different IF house, or an expandable shack. lol
Thirdly Guild housing most definitely adds benefits. Perks to crafting & harvesting etc.
House itself, yes bust your behind for, utilize those hrs the devs poured into fencing, walls & other aesthetics, but not on a silly lot.
Oh, you're right, I'm sorry. I'm sure that if you add up all the of the money that you've spent thus far on this game, that you've personally covered a sizable portion of their multi-million dollar development costs ...
I'm talking about the most expensive houses (look at the title of the thread, the ones that cost $625mil). There should not be many, they should be stupid expensive and everybody shouldn't have access to one. If every FC could get a giant mansion, there wouldn't be much prestige to owning one.
On the other hand (as I said above and below the post you quote) that I think the low to mid end housing units are overpriced. Those prices are unfair to smaller, more casual FCs and the prices should probably be lowered drastically (somewhat dependent on the ability to make $$ with the new content).
The prices are extremely steep I will not argue that, I will say that this is probably something they will monitor closely. I am guessing the alternative would have been to "underestimate" the amount of gil actively floating around and lead to "everything" selling out within a day. (wont argue if this is bad or not, since it will be a matter of perspective) On that note though the cost for the big houses as is their intention to be FC headquarters should still be a considerable hurdle, with medium being a "group effort" and small being the few friends pooling together standard (this I would prolly still keep at the 8 -20 mill marker) These are also projections I am making based on the current intention also, as in as their intended use for FC headquarters.
I will admit that it does feel discouraging to read those prices though, but as i said lets hope they closely monitor the situation. On another thread someone posted how it would be shortsighted to develop content which requires so much time and effort for 1% of the population and I am sure SE is aware of this too. (not to mention how irrelevant it would be for crafters if it is not enjoyed by more)
Yoshi just stated on the stream that he believes players can afford the housing with 3 months of diligent farming. That they will monitor the economy of legacy servers for a time and may eventually make adjustments depending on the situation.
In before all hell breaks loose...
Some account got temp ban for having 10m+, and now is 625m for house, ahahaa lulz!!!!
