It won't upset me. Though if it upsets you I'd suggest not taking yourself so seriously.

Not sure why someone would be upset about terms that they have never heard of. And just because you have never heard of a term, doesn't mean that it's new or wrong.
I don't know where the terms "Pally", "DD" and "DPS" originated from, but they were being used even during the time of DAoC. So these terms probably go back even further.
Oh BTW, in DAoC, Pally meant Paladin, DD meant Direct Damage (as opposed to DOT - damage over time), and DPS simply meant damage dealing classes.
You can't expect other people to take you seriously if you can't do it yourself first. Seems to be an issue for people who use "toon".
Does it "upset" you that I find this particular lack of a counter-logic (and thus lack of a counter-argument) a waste of my time? (I really don't care, so don't bother to answer that rhetorical question. Even though you most definitely seem to have a problem with my point of view despite not being capable of providing a decent rebuttal short of "you mad!" in so many words.) Stupidity makes me angry, no doubt about that, it's a pretty normal/natural reaction/response. It should be pointed out that I'm hardly alone on this (some people fail to comprehend this).
There are always a large handful of people who are the first to shout "THIS ISN'T WoW!" in EVERY MMO I've EVER played.
FFMMO lingo has always been "different" in comparison to every other MMO in the world that calls DD a DPS.
I've entered games before calling tanks {Meat} {Shield}s; and saying "I've got 500 exp tnl" (instead of 2 bubbles to level), and no one jumped down my throat for referencing FFXI lingo in AION, GW, D3, etc etc etc etc....
WoW wasn't the first MMO and did not create this terminology. Just like today's teens didn't create "text talk"... they just think they did.
So the next time someone says something that "sounds" like it's coming from WoW, take a deep breath, remember that there are a million MMOs in the world, and brush it off your shoulder :D

I thought WoW did EVERYTHING in the universe that we don't like?
This thread has finally clarified to me what 'DD' stands for... I'd been trying to figure that one out - what special variation on the DPS role it was.
It took me a while too to figure out why everyone kept referring the plaid character class: PLD. Not to mention whatever SMN stands for, this game being rated for teens and all, I'm tossing out my first guess.
"You people" have some strange words around here, and yeah - the thing about an MMO that gets a wide audience is more mainstream terminology comes in.
Although, I will say just this once... the plural of "gil" is "gil", not "gils". Please stop this nonsense.
Toon was a term used by ppl I knew so I followed suit. But to deny a raise over a term is extreme to me. Plus do it really matter how a person died? I can see it now.
Raisee: Raise plz <pos>
Raiser: Before I raise you how did you die so I can determine if your worth this raise.
Please devs please put reraise in the 2.1 -_-
Lol, clearly ive upset you. That wasnt my intention, but my opinion remains that being upset over word choice is quite silly, and makes a person seem more foolish than the person using colorful phrases innocently. Please dont think i mean to debate you, im just entertained that something so silly can rile you up to the point of ranting. Take yourself less seriously, you really arent important enough for a person to turn phrase (so to speak).
I came up with a pretty good idea:
If pally is a term, I suggest we start calling the gladiator similarly. Gladdy. Just picture it!
"sup brah, my gladdy is like totally cooler than you"
"other than gladdy what other class is needed for pally??? lvl 15 healer right"
