I've heard most of the cash shop items are made for the chinese store not NA, we just get them later because there's no reason not to bring them over
Something to do with chinese players not paying a sub and being more into microtransactions

The relative cost to other medium is never the point. A sedan is still incredibly cheap car comparing to a Rolls Royce, but if Chevrolet ask 50k for their most basic trim Aveo that's still a rip off comparing to the half millions Rolls Royce. An overprice item is an overprice item, irregardless of other more expensive item.
And the mog station is not only over-priced, but also limited to 1 character which itself is probably even a bigger rip off than the already high asking price.
I've spent probably thousands in the Mog Station on myself and giveaways.
Mog Shop isn't for everyone. It's for people with extra income that like what they offer.
Crying about it will never change it or stop the whales (me!) from spending.
Predatory implies take advantage of someone or heavily incentivizing they spend money. Regardless of your opinion towards the Mogstation, nothing on it provides any in-game advantage. You can literally ignore the entire store and lost out on nothing. Loot Boxes or games like Diablo are predatory due to locking aesthetics behind a RNG paywall or tying actual character progression to one. A predatory system would see that Pagaga emote people are wringing their hands over have a 5% drop rate from a crate you can purchase for $1 each. Don't believe me? Go look at actual F2P games like Black Desert or Blade & Soul. You'd spend significantly more on their aesthetics even after accounting for the subscription fee (they have one too) simply because their prices are higher, there's far less aesthetics in game to begin with or they're buried under layers of RNG.
With FFXIV, you pay one price and get exactly what you want.
Now I won't deny things are overpriced. They are. Which is why I opt not to buy them unless it's something I'm willing to splurge on. Nevertheless, there's a big difference between being overpriced and predatory.
Everyone also asked for the Hellhound mount way back when. They stuffed it in PvP as the new top 100 reward. I'd hazard a guess a good number of people who wanted that mount would have preferred it going on the Mogstation.
Putting the Pagaga emote in Bozja wouldn't necessary incentivize all that many people back into the content. Especially if it were sellable like everything else. Eureka has several rare mounts, minions and emotes yet people still don't bother all that much. Frankly, I think some people are overestimating how many people actually care about this emote.
shills will keep paying money so SE will keep re-adding those.
I'm not sure why it bothers anyone you get a set of glamor $22 or $18 depending on what you purchase. I mean there are other glamor sets that are $22 i.e. The Street attire set. The price of Glamours may not be everyone's cup of tea but if you want it go get it, if you don't then don't. I suppose if someone wants if someone wants an item on the mog station they'll do what they have to save up or otherwise and purchase the item.
I would happily pay cash for some of the glams on the Mogstation.....IF they were dyeable. Honestly, this putting out non dyeable outfits and doing likewise within the game itself is getting old and unwanted. Would it really kill SE to start making some of the gear in game and on the Mogstation, dyeable?
