What is with the constant mistreatment of the Garlean story?(6.1 Patch spoilers)

It honestly doesn't feel that we are past the original story though. I think this patch just seeks to go more in depth into things that were already established.

The original story was one that dealt with the threats of the primary, the Garlean Empire and the ascians/Zodiark. All things that this latest patch did not deal with as primary threats, feels like a pretty clear example of "moving past" to me.

What Kari said. Like I said before, cleaning up loose ends from previous storylines does not discredit the idea of a new direction.

I also say this with a grain of salt, because if SE decides that creating a brand new version of Tempering or having the WOL fight yet more versions Titan or Ifrit would make the fans pay up, they'll do it.

You’re taking words out of my mouth and trying to change what i said to fit your narrative, that is derailment.

Staying on past plot threads is pretty opposing to a new direction. You’re not really going in a new direction if you’re…going backwards.

If you wanna know what "derailment" is, it's responding with petty direct responses criticizing the person and not the topic. So this right now? This is YOU derailing your own topic to take shots at ME.

Even before EW released, Yoshi-P was talking about plot threads on how Zenos became a reaper and made a pact with his voidsent, along with talking about that it was quite unique and that these plot threads would be discussed and explored in the future.

Considering the direction 6.1's MSQ went, its not surprising they're bringing that avatar into the equation. That being said, given the finale send off they gave him at the end of 6.0, it's a high chance the "I am returned" line is just a fakeout for the playerbase, and its actually just the creature itself mentioning its back in the void once again.

And again, the problem with this logic is that it's not a zero-sum, either-or. There's definitely a point at which you can have TOO MANY revisited plot threads to count as a new direction. In my opinion, this ain't it. And apparently, Kari feels similarly.

Petty direct responses are quite literally what you are known for, and what multiple people have called you out for, but sure humor yourself.

We are having too many revisited plot threads. Between the already going back to the scions, to going from thavnair, to garlemald, to talking about the second legion, to nerva, to now the void all back to back to back. It’s like we never left. So much for “adventuring” now we have to go clean up the void. Which is what myself and many other in this thread and other threads feel similarly about apparently.

I was excited to go off on an adventure and...we're right back to doing errands and favours for the exact same group of characters that we've been stuck doing errands and favours for...for over a decade, almost.
