All the rewards for doing the MSQ were given the first time around. If someone wants rewards better do it with a secondary character I guess.

This is a very niche feature, and yes, I think the argument around FFXIV having too many niche features and content can be considered valid.

I personally don't mind adding a NG+ - even though you can just restart the whole story from scratch and that's a feature that has been in the game from the start - but my problem is, they actually spent resources on a feature that is, all in all, very niche and might actually be a little late.

I mean how many times people have replayed the game for playing an alt/replaying the story/whatever goes in your mind in the last 6 years? I did it about 4 times even though i never went beyond HW cause i got bored, but others did everything on more than one or two characters.

If this feature was introduced earlier, maybe middle SB, I think it would've been welcome - for me once is more than enough - but now? Heh, give me better BLU or something else than this, no offense.

I leveled through all of ARR just doing MSQ with the possible occassional misc dungeon run here and there. I never hit a level wall that stopped me from progressing. Unless the argument is the few misc runs I did in dungeon kept me ahead of the level cap or that youre referring strictly to 2.0-2.1, what I said is true in my experience and has continued to be true in every xpac. The caveat to that is when I hit a level wall at 79 in SB, and I was roughly 2/3 of the way into 79 at that point. If I had been doing Leveling, Trials roulettes consistently, I wouldve been just fine.

Yes, MSQ is gonna be your leveling go to. Particularly now in that area of content. Furthermore, you still shouldnt have to 'grind' as it currently is. I did one of each of the listed roulettes and did not hit level cap going 70-80. Came close, but again that was cause I wasnt consistent in doing DR.

I was really looking forward to casually leveling my alts I havent touched since ARR without having to grind the same time gated content that I've done to death at this point. I'm rather surprised that so many here feel so strongly that it needs to be either purely for leveling or purely for story. Giving us exp from playing the quests at the intended level would give us all the best of both.

Those looking to replay the great story will be able to do so and those that want to level their alt jobs differently from how they've been doing it for the past 4 years will have the option as well.

I think the general pushback is against the "NG+ is utter trash now unless you get that sweet EXP/rewards" PoV. I think someone argued why they would even spend resources on it if it doesnt give you exp and everyones gonna hate it. If it has exp, well thats the devs choice. I dont think thats wise for the game's health overall (unless they do a co-op version of MSQ - which would be cool btw. Dunno how itd work, but still). Generally, the response is simply "Who cares if it has exp or not, but stop calling it trash if youre not happy if it might not."

You mean those where you had to take the role of NPC's and defeat the major baddie in that chapter? I hated those. I had to intentionally fail them until I got the Echo buff, so I could just get them over with.

I looked forward to these just as a way of leveling alt jobs, instead of just running sidequests and dungeons.
No XP = no-go for me.

The name of the feature is misleadin, should have been named Replay, Chonicles, or Memoire Mode, but not NG plus imo, if quests, story ect cant get done with rewards, to incentivize plauer to replay the story

I was also looking forward to level some more jobs with the help of the msq, since I am mainly a "story player", but I will use New Game + even if it doesn't give any experience. I just might wait until the revamp of ARR so I can replay the story from beginning to current point, just because I would like to put all my fragmented memories together and look at the whole picture. In any case, it's a feature I am happy to welcome!

Ok. Well it seems like if you just, you know, played those fights right, you would probably get them done faster than dying until you got all that echo. But I guess you do you?

Beyond that, if its a no go for you, ok. Dont use it. That's fine with the rest of us who want it for story. I think this is literally the big difference in mindset Im seeing. For everyone who wants it for story - theyre happy and whether it applies exp or not isnt relevant. For everyone who wants it as a means to level but might not get exp - its trash/shouldnt be implemented/waste of resources/etc. Not that Sam is saying this, but this is the vibe Im getting from people who are really upset that it might not give exp.
