The virtual currency "Moogle Coins" in the FFXIV Companion app must be removed

np. I can't afford all the extra stuff they offer myself but I like to focus on the positives in everything and offer a different opinion in the big complaint topics. I get to use the free version of the app which is still pretty good and better than having no app. Maybe there's some blind faith or ignorance on my part. There's a lot of stuff that just isn't tradeable for gil. It's one of many currencies... but you can buy a house with it.... buy you can get gil and buy a house without the premium app too. I'm not worried about the game being broken by little cash perks.

The extreme of P2W would be like paying $ for special 3 hour buffs that make your character have 50% higher stats or receive auto-raise up to 5 times in a battle so the raid doesn't reset even if you keep wiping, you just power through and clear anyway. Cash shop stuff is really tame compared to what it could be.

I would honestly not care about that p2w aspect. You are assuming everyone cares about combat only or getting untrabable items. Some people simply craft and want to see how much gil they can make. They know it is worthless, just like how they view combat "status" as worthless. But this goes back to my past point, just because gil is not that useful unlike old level 75 cap ffxi, does not change the p2w aspect is there. You can't downplay something or the effect it may have just because it is not important to you. You should be looking at the concept itself, does paying extra money for the game give players some kind advantage? the answer is yes. From being able second out 10 ventures at a time vs 2 and listing 10 x 20 items not 2x20 items, are ptw advantages. Also if the app does not take your retainer off the mb when you price change one item on it, that would be another p2w advantage, since ill take IRL money in game currency to do that. This is a huge difference for people that craft and price change consistently.

Let me check I understand what the app is doing. Moogle Coins is an in-app purchase that lets you access the market more often than the daily the daily Kupo Nut allows, so you can put items up for sale without limit if you keep spending more real money?

What about ventures? Can we keep sending retainers out on ventures using the free version of the app? I can admit to being a little disappointed if you can't since I think that's the main utility the app could provide. Keep those ventures going all the time.

I'm thinking the marketboard feature of the app might not shake things up as much as people are fearing, because how many people are really going to be buying a lot of coins? We will see. With the basic kupo nut allowance you're very limited in how much you can revise market listings from the app.

You got that first part right. Each day on the free one you get 1 kupo nut (one mb purchase, one new item put up or one adjustment on an item already up for sale), or two with premium. If you expend those, you have to use coins or wait a day. I don't think they mentioned ventures at all in the presentation. That may not be part of the app.

i need to dissapoint you their is no venture option in the app

And maybe your right and are their too few people too realy make a diffrent but that still doesn't change the fact that it can change things and square is pulling the ingame currency joke on us that just doesn't belong in an AAA SUB based game

I'm unsure of what all this drama is about, maybe I'm just missing some important details here. But how does that system even affect "free users"? I can access the Market ingame whenever I want, and I'll continue doing so without this app's help. If some people want to pay real money every time they access the marketboard, be my guest (??)

Except Square Enix's track record with premium currency in any of their games has not been stellar. For now it looks like nothing (unless you craft, which does affect the entire market), but no company/business is going to go through the trouble of creating a premium currency (on mobile no less) and not have plans to do anything with it down the road.

Once again, some of SE's mobile games would require thousands of dollars if you wanted to purchase all of their features and characters. There is no way Square Enix aren't looking at that and thinking "hmmm..."

Please take it from someone that has played more mobile games than I would care to admit: it always starts as "this is nothing, it's no big deal." It always turns into a big deal until the game implodes on itself and they move on to the next project.

The FFXIV team I knew from rebuilding 1.0 - 2.0 days seems to be gone. They are all for money now. Where is the passion and love for the game and the community? SE becoming too greedy? I hope I am wrong!

I see, and I can understand that concern. However, I can't complain about something that hasn't happened yet. The Mogstation has been running for several years and, as promised, it hasn't become pay to win, and it hasn't replaced the influx of ingame glamours either. So I personally have no reasons to be angry for now.

(Note: I avoid mobile games like a plague because I dislike their money-grabbing systems >_<)
