So the "ra" in Au Ra is pronounced like Ra the Egyptian God but Au Ra as a whole is pronounced as one word rather than two, thus Ow-Ra vs Ow(Space) Ra.

That's my understanding. "OwwRah!" - like you're barking back immediately after saying "Ow". "Au Ra" possesses a hard R, therefore it sounds allllmost like two words. The spacing is meant to help distinguish that difference in pronunciation. Saying the R too soft would make it sound like "aura" and with out the space it would be written "aura" - confusion on two fronts.
How... how does that match the "Ow" sound?! It is clearly an "Au" sound! xD
(it... it sounds exactly like it is written to me.....I never would have thought to pronounce 'Audi" in any other way either... I KNOW different languages pronounce things differently, even pointed it out a few posts earlier, but it never ceases to amaze me whenever differences pop up)
The Devs have said no such thing.
yeah they did. it could have been misinterperated but they did say it.
they did during one of the fan festivals. when they went into the information about the race. I think it was the Vegas one but it could have been the London one. they made it clear that the Au Ra could not be of any relation to Shiva.
would be nice if one of the community team would speak up about this. I know what they said but I can't find any standard def videos remaining of the las vegas fan festival other than the letter from the producer live.
I checked the Keynote of the LA stream and all they mentioned was that a new race was coming and that it wasn't the Viangaa. They didn't actually reveal the new Au Ra race until the Tokyo one in December.
