Are Hunts Ruining Final Fantasy XIV?

I've never seen anything like that on my server. People have been very organized, actually. There are a few dedicated Hunt LS's. People shout the pull time so you know when you need to be there. This morning I found a Hunt and told the LS, but when they got there the PT was full and they had no room for me, so they killed it slowly to give me time to do enough damage to get full credit. For the most part it's been drama free.

I enjoy it because I like open world content that allows me to spend time with people from my server and make new friends that I can see everyday. To me that's a great positive. The other drama-based stuff that I hear about: frankly, I think people who behave like that were probably going to cause problems regardless of the situation or activity.

I think hunts are unbalanced. They need to lower the myth reward and remove the soldiery reward from them.
I'm working on a 2nd relic (book phase) and it takes 30-50mins toget into a dungeon now. Noone feels that they should run dungeons anymore.
Expect this to fix itself by 2.4 when they add new kinda points for il120 gear.

Dislike how the hunt gear is in the game.
#1 Cost too much
#2 Weak Equipment (This isnt a bad thing but cost is way to much when you can buy myth gear cheaper with AP)
#3 Nation Locked (Just remove it and add it in Grand Company costing seals)

Content rarely ever leads to "ruining" a game. Its the jackholes that run around being D-Bags to the rest of their server communities cause they "have to have the best ASAP". Also the a$$clowns running around with the 3rd Party Apps to game the system ASAP. In short Content doesn't kill games bad players ( the jerkwads ) kill games.

This is exactly how it is on my server as well.. everyone is very cooperative for the most part (yes we have a few bad apples), and hunts go pretty smoothly. It's really bringing the community together and people (including myself) are making friends far faster than we have in the entire time we've been playing. I think a lot of people are just bitter because they can't/won't put in the time to learn how to hunt with others and so they come here to rant.
Hunts are a positive thing overall and ARE here to stay, people just need to move on to something else if they don't like hunting and stop trying to ruin something that MOST people are enjoying simply because they are incapable of doing so themselves. :)

Can't say I'm a fan of hunts, no one cares about clearing content anymore. At least in Famfrit and one ever gives out hunt LS's and most people hate the big FC's who farm and try to kill monster before said FC arrives.

Thus another impasse; keep hunts as is but destroy the rewards, essentially making it useless (in the grand scheme of things) but "bonus" for players and not a main focus.

TuTake them out of the the open world and turn them into leave, maps or fates, which would add a cap but at the cost of turning the open world into a "instance without loading"

Or do nothing and let the community sort themselves out, for better or for worse.

sorry but FATE are open world content! i'm tired of the people saying is not...
the fact they force you to sync is for avoid lower fate to be annihilate by player in endgame gears!

what people want it's some competition with stuff like NM, that allows them to feel powerfull over the other.
and sorry but into the form it is the hunt have a really bad effect on the game!

Maybe it's the issue that people are incapable of doing it for reasons out of their control? It's selfish and ignorant of you to broadly group all of us here together as 'ranting' because we have valid arguments and concerns that want to be heard. :mad: After all is that not what the forums were for? Also your server may be hunky dory but for people like me that are on one of the most populated servers filled with some of the biggest or widely known FCs (PBC/Blue Gartr/DM/etc..) have all those people trying to monopolize hunts. The community is not 'cooperating' or being brought together. It's a handful of players that are about 10% of the server population that are able to do these because they're keeping it among themselves.

Maybe people would like to be able to do hunts without having to wait for the entire server,let alone be able to see them. Perhaps the idea that now people are able to get all their gear maxed in a week is troubling for those who depended on raid groups and will no longer have that since their static or party finder is now empty. Content that can be controlled like hunts can that makes other content obsolete is a dangerous thing for the community. It just is widening the gap between players for the various reasons whether it be pc vs console or hardcore vs casual. Hunts as they are now are just a volatile handout for those few players who are able to manipulate them. (and don't even get me started on the whole radar issue >_>)

I know fates are open world but I also know how much people hate them. What with their design to be "come in a d fight" and lvl sync so that aren't destroyed. But of they were hunts were just made into fates people will say they aren't open world or "true open world" which the hunt situation has shown nobody (here) truly want.

Hunts themselves are not ruining the game, it's the people that are quick to rage that are participating in these Hunts that ruin it for everyone else.
