at this point i would take a brick wall with a list on it as long as it was more user freindly then the wards so i cant disagree with any idea that takes a sawed off shot gun to the head of all retainers.
i bet they will "improve" the wards further and further... and finally you will see only the retainers in a radius 1 feet around you. It already got decreased to a stupid small radius, making it pointless to render anything at all... so why not scrap the idea already. Someone mentioned this frankenstein monster theory... adding more and more parts to the already dead body... not sure if it was the MW thread but if not, it fits to the wards 100%.
I've never had an issue learning the MW. I use them as fast as I did the ffxi or WoW AH's a whole 5 min to get 7 items. But ya i agree space is an issue but there is infact not that big tax. If you over price the items ya you gonna get taxed. I've suggested many times to have a larger more neater market ward system. But no one liked the ideas. I perfer MW over AH's because it is interactive. I HATE the "guess the price"
ps you gus are so epicly lazy :) we want less teleportation.., we want no teleportation but let us by items from a stale menu because we are too lazy to walk to a retainer that is less then a min walk. you guys are the cause of your MW grievences. MW are good, learn to use it better. There is no difference between ffxi ah and the MW system the time you spend walking is the same time spent trying bids. ffxi ah was set up how the menue is set up. You guys are so stubborn to notice ALSO it tells you what ward sells what when you click it. Honestly it takes me 5-10 min gettoing 7+ piences of gear or looking at gear. Same time it takes me to buy from the WoW ah and running to the mail box. Or doing bidding on ffxi AH actually depending on if the price of the item in ffxi it can take me longer to get a pience of gear from ffxi ah then market wards. All you guys are doing is crying about walking, yet have no issues doing so in the game world. Make up your minds. /end rant
I can agree with this! Buy everything right from the search counter, forget wandering through the wards. Everything you purchase gets put either directly into your inventory or gets queued into your loot list. This method also has the added benefit of being able to be used out in the field, if they decide to grant access to the MW and retainers to the hamlets they've already setup in the game, but just haven't done anything with.
Bayohne, I just dont understand. It is pretty crystal clear, that everyone ( the majority of players ) would prefer an auction house system for selling items, and a mog house system for storage ( just like the ones from FFXI which were a huge success ). And I am sure that everyone ( again, meaning the majority of players ) understand that an Auction house and Mog House system are not things that can just be implemented over night, especially since you all told us that in response to a different post a while back. I guess my question is this, why oh why on earth does SE continue to allocate manpower to the consistant improvement, size, change, layout and what not, to a system that noone ( meaning the majority of people still playing, and the hundreds of thousands that decided to leave about a week after purchasing the game ) wants. The manpower spent, and allocated on the market ward system could easily be moved ( i would think ) to the development and release of an Auction House, and Mog House system. After all, that is what your players have continued to demand. I appologize if my response seems a bit blunt, and possibly rude, but here is a little background on me as a player. I have played almost every Final Fantasy game released on these shores. I was on FFXI with my best friend on launch day. I still believe that game to be the single greatest achievement in videogame history ( for myself ). I get chills thinking about it to this day when I have conversations with friends on the game or in real life. I spent $ 1750.00 on a new computer, just to play this game properly on release, and there were, and are hundreds, if not, thousands more, just like me. Hopefully we have earned the right to have our suggestions taken seriously, and not " just looked into ".
1. It's not about being lazy, it's that having to render every retainer is limiting the MW, causing crashes, and making it awkward at best.
2. FFXI's style of AH is not the only one in existence. WOW, RIFT and Aion style AH's (technically not even called AH in RIFT and Aion) allow instant purchase, no bidding.
3. It does NOT take you 5-10 minutes to run from AH to your Mailbox in WOW. It's a 30 second trip at worst, if you do the RP walk.
4. MW's ward names are suggestions on where people should put their wares, not actual limits. I bought a lance from the Mender's Ward last night.
5. Walking is not the only problem with MW, but it's the one that best depicts WHERE MW fails.
Good idea I think. No AH system that I know of allows you to set up something for sale for an infinite amount of time so why should old retainers with bad pricing stay in the wards forever.

You guys say it's "crystal clear" that "everyone" wants an AH system. [Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.] The rest of us are doing pretty good with the system as it is now. Anything they do to make it better is going to be a plus.
Thanks Bayohne
