You're on my datacentre. Add me on Discord (Paladinleeds#6820), I'll hook you up with another PF sometime. I've already got both the Ifrit mount and Nightmare, and don't care for the weapons. So we'll get you your Ifrit mount.
I was on my alt leveling PLD(GLA, actually cuz i'm lvl 22 there), doing MSQ. So, Sastasha mission, first dungeon, yey. I was on Malboro, and that exp bonus makes things a lot easier, but it makes people get on the first dg and get sync even it they are new and everything... So i didnt notice at first, but my Healer(WTM), was new. I feel bad about it, but whe he started running away from the adds on the last boss, and i started laughing(i was with like 4 adds and the boss, because my party was meele, so no one wanted to stop hiting the boss to close the pipes). The boss was as 3% in life when 3 adds came, and i couldnt use flash on them because they started chasing the healer. We killed the boss pretty quickly, so i didnt even tried to pick them(specially cuz the healer ran to the other side of the dungeon and my dps were meele). I apologized for letting them chase him, and told that if he stay near the tank is easier for us to pull the mobs.
It was kinda cute, actually, i've never saw a new healer in Sastasha
This weekend was... fun. I had:
Dusk Vigil where our tank was a GLD, said "whoops lol," and ran the dungeon anyway. Then the MNK who had to use Sprint+Fists of Wind to achieve more than a snail's pace (literally -- 3 seconds of her "Sprint" was one of my steps), and ended up eating every AoE.
Syrcus Tower ft. a serious MT, my alliance's OT, and the last tank, who kept Provoking bosses to spin them for no reason. "Does it matter?" he asked. "YES," answered 6 other people at once.
Stone Vigil with a premade party of three who... were basically like the squadron NPCs, but worse. The healer would regen me (WAR) and then just stand there, for 10-30 seconds at a time. The BLM had an interesting rotation of Bl3-Bl3-Bl3-F3-F3-F3. At least the MNK used FoF.
Rabanastre with lazy tanks. Featuring me (WHM) dying to Ice Slaves, RDMs/BLMs dying from aggro they never should've had, and the healer couple in alliance A who wouldn't stop cleaning the floor.
All of my World of Darkness runs as NIN, where at some point, I invariably end up as MT.
Oh, and my Snowcloak run as tank, where I kept losing aggro to competent DPS because I was so tilted.
Yeah.
Doma.
Well, that BLM may have been new, but wow they sure did an amazing Aetherial Manipulation save (boss 2, warped to the healer who was targeted by a stack marker, right before the AoE lines "closed")
Then the tank sadly locked 'em out of the final boss (did say sorry). The BLM was all nice about it ("hey, now I get to watch :)"), but wow did it take forever. I Shadewalkered the tank 3 times X/
I accidentally didn't commend the BLM after the run. Was supposed to, but it slipped my mind :(
I think every healer has gone through that moment of panic as a beginner. It's counterintuitive to run toward the tank while being chased by monsters. It's good things worked out and you were able to take a moment afterwards to give some advice to your new healer. :)
When I was in there for my clear this week, NOBODY took the ice sprites(that he starts with), so I, as a RDM and using Contre Sixte right away caused me to die to them(nobody else was hitting any form of AoE at that point either).
*snicker*
So true. Now, I've seen some amazing kiting done by archers, bards, and dragoons when the tank has dropped and no rez is available; but, that's a different situation.
It's the people who run around in absolute panic while there's a tank who make me laugh hysterically. What's funny is the number of players who deny they did it afterwards.
