A forum they can't ignore I'm sure they could side step the question but I'd imagine that there a separate team at SE that not part of the dev team that handles stuff like promos and stuff.

I was irritated at first that SE launched these items in Japan before they even stopped to think about anyone else.
Now with everything else that has happened with this promotion, and most importantly SE's complete lack of response to their community on this... both myself and my partner are questioning if ongoing support of this game and SE as a company is really worth the constant insults.
Can SE not even face their community regarding this?
Can we have an actual response in regards to the reasons why this campaign is problematic, as opposed to a copy paste clarification. There is a clear, unjustifiable imbalance not only between the UK and EU as of right now, but the 'EU campaign' compared to both American and Japanese iterations of it.
Or are things already set in stone, and the best we can hope for is a couple sentences apologising after the fact when everyone is tired of complaining and everything to be swiftly brushed under the rug.
Wow.. This has gone from "bad promotion" to embarrassing.
I wonder if we'll get an actual response though: this is serious stuff yet we only had A response, and it was nothing more than a Clarification post.
Have they really responded in dept to any real problems in a timely manor? I would be surprised if this is vaguely addressed in the next live letter when ever that is. They have a very definite plan when it comes to issues that are bad. One community response in thread (if that) and then ignore. Hide behind the white knights who say its a Japanese company and they can't form a timely English response. Then wait till it goes away.
clap clap very professionnal organization o_O
I had doubt in was an emergency promotion after Brexit, but... well... it asks some kind of questions... But unfortunatly, in fact, that's not the first time I see that happening, all services are not always aware of what their own enterprise is planing. Strange but real.
So far the only response was a clarification post from the community team http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post3778581 which really doesn't help the situation, except for that fact it says about how other countries will have different campaigns.
The other response was a clarification of why the thread was put down, making it irrelevant to our discussion.
We're in dire need of urgent clarification at this point now that it has been revealed that there's real problems with availability. The first issue is completely sold out and not every physical copy came with a code...
I love the game but I'm very disappointed with how this has been handled. I played WoW for many years before FFXIV and Blizzard, too, often treated UK and EU players very poorly compared to their American players. In FFXIV it genuinely feels like UK - and EU - players are valued less than American and Japanese players. Which may not be true, of course, and I'm hoping it isn't...but we need information. Will the offer be adjusted? Will other EU offers be more easily accessible for UK players? I really just wanted to throw money at something and get the codes to be used quickly - much like Japanese and American players were able to.

When people are talking about this rediculous campaign, lets make it more rediculous
If the AU promo is any better, I'll get UK people who can't get their own codes some codes with my own cash. This is just... silly. And bad.
well i've managed to find the Holy grail
https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t5...17965067_n.jpg
which is 2 out of 4 copies I have found on shelf after visiting about 6 shops last night
https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t5...49948774_n.jpg
I can confirm the both sets of codes worked
Went to check Tescos, they did have a copy. A single copy...and I know around 20 folks here that want the code. Also the code was stolen, that's how desperate people were.
Can you do something about this already?
There are no winners with this campaign... just vunerable people desperate for the items and sadly buying into this magazine sham, the people that dont have the magazine now have to face the facts that after months and months of waiting for this campaign, we probably wont be able to get the fat choco in the end .. the only winners are gamemaster. finally someone is buying their product after a billion years collecting dust.
I hate the fact the only way to do this is with physical copies.... why ... if this was all digitally, maybe they could of avoided this whole situation because digital is unlimited.. or just put them on the damn mog station come on!
The August 2016 issue is back in stock. I just clicked the link in the OP (1st page, 1st post, bottom paragraph).
Infact I don't understand why couldn't this be done via digital distribution. Sure we would have to wait, but at least most of EU players can get their codes now! The way it is now not only it's just too hard for most people, but it's simply not going to fulfill the demand.
Although I STILL don't get why we have to wait 3 months for the full promotion rewards, while others had to wait less than 24 hours....
These promotions typically work with Square Enix choosing the highest bidder. Once the contract is signed, nothing can be done if people dislike it, short of said people refusing to participate. In short, you likely won't hear anything from mods. Suffice it to say, with NA players being able to preorder cancel and EU players irate over an admittedly terrible campaign, I doubt we'll ever see something like this again. And I'm fine with that. Just put this stuff on the MogStation and call it a day. Or, if they do insist on trying this again, push for Amazon to open it up to all regions. How it's been handle as a whole as been a disaster.
Well that would make too much sense...but jokes aside, a limited promotion on the mogshop would definitely do. I spend lots of dosh on fantasia all month (yeah i'm very undecisive) so spending 30-40 euros on this isn't going to be a big deal. But to be fair ANY other promotion except the current one would be better.
Sheesh I just want my maid outfit....I dread to see how much they'll sell the codes. Not that I would buy but considering the limitations and high demand, I expect high prices.
ya i also agreed with that very firmly.
But last time i read there is alot ppl rejected the idea of selling item in mogstation & so should make it as a quest rewards in game since it is P2P game.
so in my opinion,as a result,SE come out with this kind of promotion at first to avoid selling in mogstation.
even if we ask them to change their mind to sell in mogstation now,i think it is impossible,it is already started since 7-11 promotion.
so i think as a result we getting now, partly is also the community's responsibility for rejected the idea of selling in mogstation at first.
now stuffs cant be revert for SE, i already buy issue 306, Sub issue 308, 309, 310 to avoid no stock BUT if the code wont work or not in the magazine,SE is responsible for that.So as an insurance for us,SE should give us a reply & take responsible for this in case the code wont work or lost,so it can ease our mind for now.
The August issue is back in stock: https://www.myfavouritemagazines.co....016-issue-306/
I do, but I classify emails as private communications & it wouldn't be fair to publish them. I don't think it would be of benefit anyway as I got the impression that it's a mess of SE's making.
There's another FF promo in the same issue (stickers) & it's likely that they didn't get the gravitas of the FFXIV items. What I mean by that is that is they may well have assumed that the items were readily available but you got them easier than in the game. I justify this opinion by pointing out that nowhere on the packaging, leaflet or article does it say "exclusive". The nearest term is when they refer to the rarity of the White Chocobo, which is why it takes 3 issues to obtain.
This is 100% on SE's doorstep as they don't appear to have told Future Publishing that the promotion was the UK/EU version of an international campaign with exclusive content.
As a heads up for UK residents, following a phone call to Future Press this morning, as of about 20 minutes ago they had 103 issues of GamesMaster 306 in stock.
Good luck, kupo.
And it seems that the magazine is out of stock again (at least when I follow the link Febby posted). In the age of Internet why do you not at least made this a digital magazine campaign? No shipping fee and no out of stock situation..Maybe a "subscribe to this three online magazines". No way for people to get their money back, no out of stock situation, anyone can get it and you get all of the codes immediately after you paid. (So no sending a picture of yourself..)
You could still have some codes in a physical magazine to hope for more new customers while keeping your fanbase with the digital ones happy.
I do wonder when we will get the other campaigns? Will it start after the last issue of this deal? Will it be one campaign after the other? (Which means that some might get their items in 2017..) If you don't want to say sorry for this campaign the least you could do is release the information about the other ones now so that people have the chance to choose.
Out of stock again within about 3 hours? i think ..it wasn't long thats for sure.
*~*~Update~*~*
Regarding my missing codes from one of the two magazines I purchased yesterday afternoon.
I contacted the head company that owns Games Master, Games Radar, late last night (through their onsite emailing page) and also emailed Games Master through the email provided on their Facebook this morning.
Games Master (I assume the latter email is more reliable than the first) replied not too long ago apologising for my lack of code slip in my purchased magazine and requested a photo of the magazine (as proof of ownership/ purchase). I sent the photo and they said they will be sending a replacement code slip asap.
To those that have bought a mag and not had the code within, please contact the company and they should ship one out to you.
Be warned, apparently within the office they have a limited supply of spare code leaflets, but I'm hoping all should be okay for those who bought and missed out. :)
This is what it says now 4hr from this post
I have emailed them asking if they will be getting anymore stock online but from that extra line they added at the end my guess is no will update when i get a reply.
so i guess the only copies of this magazine you can find is in uk stores (none around me stock it) so good luck guys......
It's kind of sad how this went from a legit protesting thread about how SE is being unfair to EU customers, to a thread about where people can purchase the magazines. Fickle much? xD
Yes indeed, and I honestly gave up at this point: massive disappointment and I'm so upset that I really wonder whether to continue playing or not. It's not about the outfit itself (for me) but it's how badly implemented this promotion is, how lackluster the decision was (someone had to decide this right?). I just can't believe how poorly their choice was, especially after the great promotion they had for JP and NA (yes the Amazon promotion was exploitable, but don't blame on the players: blame THEM - Amazon themselves - for their lack of controls and fixes).
It almost feels like they didn't even care.
I'm seriously unsure what to do next with this game...
It's worrying that it's going out of stock so quickly. I wonder how many people from across the EU are competing for the limited stock, though? Let alone those who are purchasing multiple copies for friends or with the intention of reselling the codes? I fear that it will be the same for other countries throughout the EU too when their promotions go live. Japanese and American players did not have to worry about competing with foreign players since European players couldn't use those promotion codes in the first place due to region restrictions.
So for the EU to be forced to compete with itself is...unfortunate to say the least. Sadly it seems like another day is going to pass without any solid clarification being posted. I fear that with the activity in the thread declining the issue will eventually just be brushed under the rug much like the complaints that arose when it was revealed that UK players were forced to pay much more than their Japanese, American and European counterparts for the Heavensward Collector's Edition.
I don't think that's entirely fair. Someone can enjoy the game thoroughly but still be disheartened if they feel like they're getting a poor deal or that their concerns aren't being addressed. So they decide to offer feedback - and if that feedback is ignored or not addressed in a timely or satisfying manner then it only serves to cause further doubts to manifest.
Even for the more 'selfish' players who are throwing a tantrum over this their concerns are understandable simply because it's natural for people to want to not miss out on adding some neat items to their collections when players in America and Japan could do so with minimal effort and fuss involved.
This promotion with the EU is totally unfair. I haven't had any luck finding copies and the online store SE recommends has it out of stock.
Compared to other regions we have the most inconvenient promotion ever. Not to mention I am not living in the UK/EU anymore (I just had a relative check the stores). So unfair and very disheartening, I would have loved to added more "glamour" items to my collection but this promotion was just unfair to EU players.
I think part is also that this promotion makes you feel like a less valued customer than others. Na and JP got pretty good deals and we get this mess + the rest of the EU doesn't have any info on their campaigns. I can't say myself what kind of statement I want besides a timely info what other campaigns the other countries get. But I feel treated poorly as customer with this disparate campaign. So I can understand if some people feel actually less motivated for the game itself too if you start to feel unwanted/unappreciated/fobbed off with an in comparison horrid campaign.
NA got the best cause even if you aren't in NA but can access NA amazon, you could have gotten the items and it was just a single buy or an item that you would need. JP had probably some 7-11 trouble but at least the things they get would be edible. But EU got magazines that ultimately just run out of stocks as soon as they get released. facepalm to SE for this. I really wanted that butler outfit.
It's sad that this version of the promotion has turned into a 'whoever can get their hands on it'. A lot of people will be missing out, including myself. I will echo my last post in saying i can only hope the other EU promotions are easier to get the codes from because this magazine is not getting my money.
